Went to the attached theatre so had food and drink beforehand. Good range of beers. Food was good and value for money.Staff were nice so would be happy to return.
To say this place was an absolute joke on Christmas Day is an understatement. Shouldn’t have opened your doors to deliver nothing but frustration and disappointment to all customers on Christmas Day! I had a booking for Christmas dinner a table of 12 we arrived for our booking time 2pm the pub only had 8 bookings for the hole day an wasn’t open to the public, we waited an hour an half for our starters to come out after asking a few times Whats taking so long being told there cooking it table by table, when it did arrive it was not even half of what my table had ordered me returning mine to have the garnish removed which was written in my pre order form obviously not read or followed. To wait another 20 mins for my starter to come back out by then my table had finished there’s. With my family at the table being disappointed us an kids all hungry we then asked about our mains how long would they be as it was 4pm by now and we was all starving we were told they are being prepared and also the bar is closing at 4.30 and the pub is closes at 5pm we hadn’t even had our MAINS over two hours into our booking and being told the pub is closing soon. 4.20 two meals out of 12 arrives to our table steak an kids nuggets as the rest of us waited for our Christmas dinners thinking they were coming straight behind the first two meals to wait a further 15 mins again two of my family members already eaten and my sisters dinner didn’t arrive at all to then find our Christmas dinners that did come out was absolutely DISGUSTING was Cold the veg Rock hard two slices of turkey an three roast potatoes by now the hole pub is complaining about the wait an the quality of the food being served staff even not knowing what to say and agreed with customers how bad the day and service was stating there is no GM around to speak to and said we were lucky to even be there as they were not sure if they were even going to open leaving them refunding everyone that booked this place to enjoy a lovely Christmas Day and dinner. My table hardly touched our dinners we left them on the table an called a cab. Still all hungry and all very frustrated! I Didn’t even take the chance to wait any longer to see the deserts I’d probably still be waiting now for them. This place was unbelievable yesterday so disgusting and disappointing to say the least. Ruined our Christmas Day completely!!!
Went for Sunday lunch. Standard Greene King menu with additional roasts. I had roast beef and my wife had the mushroom Wellington. Well cooked and plentiful. Good value and much cheaper than the local, trendy gastropubs! Too full to have dessert.
We went back today after a 2 year break due to bad management & food & im so glad we did ! Food was excellent & was served by a wonderful lady called kayley, she was so lovely, so polite & happy, it was so lovely to see all ages enjoying the food & atmosphere! We will definitely start using the pub again, thank you for a lovely afternoon brockley jack x
We had lunch at the Brockley Jack Pub and were really impressed! We went for their lunch deal, which is excellent value for money. The food was exceptionally fresh, tasty, generous, and beautifully done. Portions were copious, and everything felt authentic and well-prepared. The staff were also fantastic - attentive, friendly, and really made us feel welcome. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a great pub experience in the area!
Nice welcome, dog friendly, easy to use app for food and drink. Good service. Lost a star for missing an ordered item and offering a limited menu at lunchtime. Overall, good experience.
What a disappointing experience tonight. Met an old friend for a meal and catch-up at 6pm. The place has badly deteriorated! Our fish meal choices were both unavailable. The pie meals arrived after about 45 minutes and were awful. Pies were really overcooked with blackened, concrete like crusts. Then DJ set up and played deafening music. Us and other diners couldn't hear each other. Asked staff twice to lower volume but our requests ignored. DJ garbling and distorted even louder over the music. Ordered coffee and ice cream at 8pm. Kitchen closed - no ice cream. After half hour no coffees arrived so we cut our losses, got refund for the 2 coffees and left. The place was not busy but still awful food and service. Not recommended, Avoid, there are so many much better places around!
A lovely "home feel" pub. A fantastic selection of food (including vegetarian and vegan) as well as all the expected beverages. Nice service and reasonable prices. I've been here a few times with family and we wil definitely be going there again. Thoroughly recommended.
Good Brockley pub in an imposing building dating from 1898. Three cask beers on handpump when I visited. Home of the Jack Studio Theatre where I saw a very good performance of a play by Kae Tempest. Beer garden to the rear with plenty of outdoor seating.
