   Lovely atmosphere, lots of space, really well decorated bar for the festive period. All had roast dinners with turkey or wellington and all very delicious! Service was good but nothing above an beyond. Server was slightly bemused by one of us inquiring what seasonal vegetables came with the roast dinner and we were surprised they didn't offer to find out especially when she overheard us talking about how some vegetables are not as good for one of our parties diet as others.

   Came here on a Saturday afternoon very long wait for food & when it arrived the fondant potato & chips was under cooked. The area in the restaurant where we were situated was also cold. Gammon egg & chips (very salty gammon cheap eggs & under cooked chips) Rump of beef ( not a tasty cut of beef with under cooked fondant potato) Tomahawk pork ( very tasty but mostly fat & bone) I appreciate it was busy and a lot was going on for Xmas but putting that to 1 side it’s not very good value for money.

   My first visit to The Star at Sidcup Place was brilliant. We were served by George, a polite and friendly member of staff who was not only knowledgeable about the menu but also funny and pleasant, which made the evening even more enjoyable. I ordered the spicy pepperoni pizza and it was fantastic. When I asked if they had a garlic dip, they didn’t — but the chef went out of his way to make a fresh garlic butter, and honestly, it was incredible (still living rent-free in my head!). My friends had the braised lasagne, and the meat was tender, flavorful, and very well cooked. This place has now officially become our new go-to “catch-up over dinner” spot. Highly recommend!

   We hosted our daughter’s 1st Birthday party in the Star’s private function room (a beautiful room). Elle did a fantastic job and ensured that the day ran smoothly! I had a lot of specific asks and requests and Elle did a great job in fulfilling them. Communication from booking to the event itself was great. On the day Elle pre-empted all our needs, the chef was great, food was lovely and the service from the staff was very friendly. We will definitely be back for the next big celebration!

   Had my Daughters 21st Birthday here a week ago, great venue, good facilities, friendly and helpful staff (especially George). Buffet options were very good, and very accommodating in all aspects of the booking, going to be my go to place for all special occasions moving forward! Thanks Again.

   Staff friendly and polite. Food off a high standard and well presented. Only criticism is mains were served immediately after we had finished starters. A gap of maybe 10 minutes would have been preferable. Other than that it was an enjoyable experience.

   Dropped in last minute for lunch with our mum. Warm welcome and shown to a table overlooking the garden. Our meals were nice and plentiful and good quality. We opted for the ham hock and hunters chicken meals. Our waitress was brilliant and ensured we had an enjoyable meal. We definately will return.

   A nice courtyard-style beer garden outside, parking, craft beers and some decent wines by the glass. Laid back friendly staff. The building dates back to 1743 and is impressive. Great for a meeting with friends and other dog walkers. Dogs welcome. Easy to park. We didn’t eat here but the menu is British typical of the Marston’s chain.
