My visit to Toby Carvery Moby Dick was extremely disappointing from start to finish. When we arrived, there was no one around to help with the car registration screen, and after waiting about 15-20mins, someone finally appeared but took even longer to return. We went ahead to get our carvery, only to receive the smallest portion of meat Iβve ever been served at any Toby. They were also out of mac and cheese for the kids, and we had to wait nearly 10mins for that to be sorted. Trying to pay and get drinks was another ordeal as there were no staff at the bar, and when I finally managed to get the attention of the same girl who said sheβd be right over, she brushed me off with a βjust a minuteβ and carried on. The drinks were overpriced, the food was dry and tasteless, and the service was nonexistent. What really stood out, though, was an elderly man (using a walking stick) nearby who had finished eating long before we arrived and was still waiting for his bill. When I offered to help him by finding someone, the same waitress rudely said she was βcomingβ and carried on, showing no concern whatsoever for how long heβd been waiting. Iβve been to many Toby Carverys over the years, and this was by far the worst experience Iβve had. Poor food, worse service, and absolutely no sense of care or hospitality. Iβll never be returning to this branch, and I wouldnβt recommend it to anyone. Zero star if possible!

The moste awful service!! The men working at the bar first day ask as to leave in 20 minutes and we were allowed to by only 1 more drink. He told us that if he wants to close 1 hour before the closing time it's up to him. And beforehand while serving us every glass was slammed on to the table. It's a shame because from outside the place was looking more welcoming.

Fantastic lunch date with my best friend to celebrate our mums anniversary. Excellent choice of food, friendly, helpful staff in a beautifully decorated Christmas setting. The music was generic to suit all tastes without being overly festive and the volume was just right. We were served by a lovely lady named Jess who made the experience really pleasant and the carver Callum, made sure everything was to our taste signposting what was vegetarian.

The food was nice it always is. They phoned us in advance to tell us they had ran out of something, but we did go late. Dee who served us was very friendly with a smile, and helpful. Also what I thought was nice is they made me a dessert with Happy Birthday on the plate, when they found out on the day it was my Birthday. Elvita also was very good served us with a smile.

Attended the place as a family of 5. Place was great as it was the last time we came. Soft music in the background. Well-lit. A combination of modern and Victorian decor. Service was great. Dee was brilliant, lady explained the menu patiently (as we had just missed the intended breakfast), checked allergies and kept returning to check on us. Food was generally good. Nice to be back.

Absolutely appalling. Server was unbelievably surly, huffed and puffed. After drinks the server never returned for our food order so we just went and got a carvery. The carvery chefsβ had no allergy knowledge so one member of the party did not feel confident to eat at all. Frankly they were the lucky one the food was shocking. Yorkshire puddings were like leather, roast potatoes like rocks, vegetables lukewarm, meat dry and tough. Deserts came for five members of the party, these were finished with no sign of the sixth desert. On asking the server where it was I was snapped at that it was coming. It was a plain bowl of ice cream, when it arrived it was very melted, clearly it had been forgotten and left to melt. We were really unhappy but had vouchers ordered through a savings site,?Β£19:99 for two people for 2 courses , use up to three vouchers per meal so we had paid Β£60 for these vouchers which the restaurant refused to accept!!!!!!! They took one but despite the vouchers clearly stating we could use up to three for the six meals the manager said we could not and refused to budge. So in addition to the Β£60 we had paid for the vouchers we had to pay an additional Β£64 for the worst service and food I have ever had the misfortune to encounter. I know this sounds like sour grapes because we had issues with payment but truly it was a horrible experience. We have use Toby carvery many many times all over the country and always felt they were good value and good quality. This was neither.

No one to greet us upon arrival. When we asked staff member said she was on her own. We were told there would be on cooking at 10:05 for breakfast and Check if we wanted to still have breakfast. We checked started to serve and she said you have to pay first. We could only sit in an allocated area. Didnβt feel welcoming at all. The whole place needs a revamp, interior is mismatched, toilets are awful. Better to go to a local cafe for breakfast than here. More staff needed also, but regardless good customer service should prevail even when short-staffed. Food that was there was average.

We visited on a Saturday afternoon without a reservation. It was nearly empty, however we were unable to get seated as there was only 2 staff working. We were given the option. To eat a carvery meal in the bar section which we didn't feel comfortable with. The food smelt amazing tho
