I have been a Halfords customer since 2017, but recently my experience at this particular location has become very disappointing. For some time now, one of the cashiers has been making very inappropriate and unprofessional jokes directed at me. In addition, he seems to “test” customers to see whether they are wealthy or not, which is completely unacceptable. While this is happening, long queues form at the tills, and customers end up waiting for nearly half an hour. The staff on the shop floor are also not very helpful. When asking where certain products can be found, the assistance provided is minimal or unhelpful. Today, I also witnessed both cashiers forgetting—twice—to remove the security tags from products that customers had already paid for, which is concerning and reflects poorly on the quality of service. With this level of service, I see no reason why your cashier should feel entitled to make offensive jokes or carry out so-called “wealth tests” on customers. I expect a more professional and respectful attitude, especially from a company I have supported for many years. I think a sticker with ,,Rich Only" on the front will make my day happy avoiding this place . ✌️

formally raise a complaint regarding the unacceptable behaviour my father experienced from a member of staff at your store. Approximately two and a half days ago, my father purchased a starter motor for his car. Unfortunately, the part did not work for his vehicle, so he returned to the store not to request a refund, but simply to exchange it for the correct starter motor — the one he had previously used and knew was compatible with his car. When he approached the staff member for assistance, he was met with an extremely rude and disrespectful attitude. The worker accused him of “only buying it to start the car,” despite the fact that he was clearly there to exchange the faulty part. This behaviour was unprofessional, unnecessary, and completely unacceptable. My family and I have been loyal customers of Halfords for years, and we have never experienced this kind of treatment. It is disappointing and concerning that a customer trying to resolve a product issue would be spoken to in such a manner. I kindly request that this incident be investigated and that appropriate action is taken. I would also appreciate being contacted by the store manager or a higher-level representative to discuss this matter further. Customers deserve respectful and helpful service — this experience fell far below those standards, and I do not want this to happen to anyone else. Thank you for your attention. I look forward to your response.

I can not fault the service given by Sunny, the nice guy that fitted my bulb, who made the tedious job look fairly easy, which I know it wasn’t. His customer service was second to none. The only reason I have not given a 5 star review is due to the 25 minute wait for my allotted time, without any apologies for delay. With that said I would definitely recommend this service.

Popped by this morning with a headlight issue and Sonny came out immediately and resolved the concern immediately. So impressed with his lovely manners and knowledge. What a great example of superb customer service. Thanks again Sonny!

18/8/25- Bought a battery 2.5 years ago and showed my receipt. Battery stopped working and I had to jump starting my car every time to drive the car as the battery kept discharging. Halfords Watford refused to replace the battery under the 5 year warranty, despite the car battery being trickle charged always and never left on overnight. Drove 40 mins to Halfords so the battery should have charged but was completely discharged- they still refused to listen to what I was saying. Halfords did a test which came back as battery needed replacing- per attached photo I took. Very disappointed and won’t be coming back again. Will be soon telling others not to get anything from Halfords

I just came in to purchase a shelving unit. I wanted to say a particular thanks to Lewis and the team in the branch. I was standing in front of the product and wondering how I would manage to take the item to my car, I didn't want to bother the team as they were busy with their tasks. Lewis approached me and asked if I needed help in a very friendly and cheerful manner. As a branch manager for a retail store myself I wanted to take the time to thank Lewis and make sure he was recognised for his natural initiative. Resting stores need more cheerful people like him, and the team member on the till (I'm sorry I didn't catch his name!)

Never going back to this store again. What a joke! Came to get a bulb fitted last week and was told to wait 15 minutes. Fine. Then 2 people were allowed to jump in front of me with no apology. The guy on the till had a couldn't care less attitude. Came back a few days later, the fitter told me the price of the bulb I needed and that he'd order it in for me. Arranged a date and time to fit it. Arrived for the fitting, he was on lunch for an hour. Another fitter changes the bulb but not with the one ordered in and the guy with the couldn't care less attitude on the till charged £30 for a bulb fitting that I was assured on ordering it would cost half that. I have never experienced such bad customer service.

I recently visited the store to buy an electric bike. I ordered an electric bike putting this on a Klarna finance plan. I looked up the bike online comparing it to another and realised the bike didn't have speed shifting gears. I got in touch with customer support team who raised case ref to change the order. The customer support team on call asked me I need to go in Watford store to cancel the order and make a new one. I called twice to confirm this on call. I made time and went In store to change the order and make a new one however the in store customer support team advised that I need to cancel the finance plan first. I requested them to look at the order online however they were adamant they knew all procedure involved.on contacting Klarna the team advised me that it's Watford Halfords branch that needs to cancel the order and inform Klarna of the cancellation. This could have been resolved in store. I got in touch with the store manager and complaints team, the manager latter took my complaint details and managed to resolve the issue. Was pleased at the end of the day on the Watford store manager prompt response and much appreciated his humble service. Thank you.

Disorganised staff in the shop. Wrong information given by obvious untrained staff, waiting to be seen only for the cashier to advise the only competent worker there that the guy behind me was next. Will not be visiting this store again. Waste of a visit. The guy who did the repairs, middle aged guy was a great member of staff.. the other two need training on customer service.

The man by the bike service desk put me off by lying to me that they don't do free assessment services anymore as they are booked for 1 month in advance. The website clearly stated there is available slots and that's how I booked it in first place. Got there rushing to get in time on a rainy day cycling to be told to go off... I decided to service my bike myself and needed to buy a few parts, I checked online and showed in stock, got in, same guy by the service desk and he now states that the parts are not in stock, the website is wrong and that it's not their fault. At this point I started doubting anything he was saying and went downstairs to ask the cashier the same who did confirm that the parts are in stock and brought them to me! The guy by the service desk should get a written warning or disciplinary action as his negligent actions affect company's revenue, feedback and customer experience. At the end I got my parts and therefore giving 2 starts, otherwise would give 1 knowing how I was lied to.
