Can't believe I paid these for years. First home insurance claim in my 36 years of home ownership. My roof was damaged. I was told they looked on Google Earth, and it looks like it was old and had moss on it and unkempt. I had a storm cover. It was storm damaged. For building work, you have to use their partner builders, and it's them who visit and say yes or no to your claim, not LV. I could go on and on about all these red flags. I feel scammed. There was unprofessionalism; for one; communication always by phone, never in writing so you can't prove how much off a rip off company this really is. Never again. Check reviews and go with a proper company. One that genuinely cares for customers.

LV destroyed my bathroom and refused to fix it for 6 month. I am a 78 years old widow living on my own and have mobility issues. I need the use of the downstairs bathroom to avoid the stairs. LV came to fix my downstairs bathroom floor that had water damage. In the process of "fixing" this damage, they smashed the bathroom suite. This resulted in them leaving the bathroom completely ruined for 5 months with no floor, no bath and no sink, they left the toilet in the sitting room. After months of time chasing and arguing with LV they still refused to fix the broken bathroom but instead agreed to give us some money. This is currently with the legal Ombudsman to help us get proper compensation for our time, stress and grief. Avoid this company at all cost.

I decided to put my Adult grandson on my car insurance but was told I wasn't insured. I said "Yes, I am", she curtly told me that I wasn't. Apparently I was in arrears with my payments. I explained that I paid by direct debit and she said it was cancelled and I should take it up with my bank. I visited the bank all guns blazing only to be told the direct debit was 'active' and as I hadn't told them to cancel and there was sufficient funds, then it was the fault of LV because they didn't take the money out. Apparently, unbeknown to me I had been driving without insurance and this caused me so much stress. I asked to be re-installed and was told I was too old at 80! The mind boggles.

Honestly can't fault them, so easy to deal with, every customer facing aspect is so efficient. We have car and house insurance with them. Happy with both. Had to claim for a stolen car last year and such a smoother process then I'd been expecting. Great staff!

My husband and I had been with LV for many years until they tried to exploit our policies. I cancelled my policy a few months ago due to the extortionate price they quoted me to renew my policy. Well today my husband tried to change our address on the policy to be told that it would cost an additional Β£324 on the premium. What I don't understand is we are moving to a gated community with security on site and they want Β£324 for the car to be in a more secure area and better post code area than we currently have with a car sat on a drive. Idiocy!! So no surprises that when challenged we were told to pay up or cancel. So cancel we did. That is over Β£1000 in lost policies from long standing customers. Absolute disgraceful attitude and clearly no morals or ethics. Nothing but money making con artists. Avoid at all possible costs. Might be worth noting that I changed my address with my new provider at no cost whatsoever and in fact my car insurance reduced considerably because of the gated community with security on site. Go figure that out. LV your loss you little scammers.

Not impressed with the claims process. I had an emergency, and LV treated it as anything but; in fact the emergency phone line just forwarded me on to another number. The staff haven't been polite or helpful at all.

Just to mirror what most have already stated - avoid!!! Theyβve messed us around massively with our renewal price - firstly doubling it, then increasing by a further Β£700 and not honouring their original βvalid for 14 daysβ quote. Terrible company

Shocking, stay well away. Get you in with a low premium then when you need them they refuse to pay out. Cancelling all our policies with them immediately.

Aleah from LV was incredibly unhelpful. Was becoming very irate on the phone call also talking over me. Was told the excess on repairs would be waived as it was a non fault claim. She even listened to the call I was making the claim on and it details that the excess would be waived. Very Unhelpful team. After speaking with Aleah as she was so unhelpful I asked to speak to a manager he was called Nathan, again very unhelpful. Will not be using LV again and will definitely be making sure all friends and family stay away from this sham of a company.

After my previous poor review - and there seem many who have done the same - a very curt lady from the complaints department got in contact with me saying they have the right to refuse as I didn't have a plumbers report. Of course I didn't have a plumbers report. There was water running through the ceiling and if I'd waited for a plumber, they'd have been dealing with much more of a claim...and probably wouldn't have paid out on that either. In the end, being talked over by someone who understands nothing seemed pointless so I terminated the call. They had no intention of discussing either my claim or complaint. Just gave one sided reasons not to pay. Interestingly, whilst I am apparently insured by #fairmead, all documentation and envelopes are still branded #legalandgeneral . Trust neither these nor #LV= #liverpoolvictoria or #BVS assessors. Useless....look at the level of all the reviews!
