   J and A Motors tried to rip me off. I brought my car in after my wheel came off to fix it. They said they’d inspect it and let me know the quote the next day — they didn’t. I had to chase them the following day and ring them for an update. They then claimed there were multiple issues that weren’t true and quoted around £1,000 to fix it. I collected my car the same day and took it to a mechanic I trust, who fixed my wheel only for a fraction of the price, which proved my suspicions that J and A Motors were lying and trying to rip me off. Avoid — especially if you are a woman or a person of colour. I personally felt there were micro-aggressions in how I was spoken to, and it came across like they assumed I didn’t know anything about cars. If I knew then what I know now, I would never have gone to them. Dishonest, unprofessional, and terrible service.

   I have been bringing my various cars here since 2005 for servicing and MOTs and also to sort out faults when they have come up. Always found them great to deal with, reasonably priced and I have never had any issues with the work they do. I wouldn't have used them for two decades if they weren't up to scratch.

   Had problem with coolant. Went to Seat who quoted me £1600 plus VAT. Went to J&A saw MJ who said don't worry leave it with me. He done the required work and charged me less then £500. This guy MJ is absolutely brilliant. Good service keep it up.

   Needed a fender and wing repair. Guy working the cars initially told me 500 plus parts. I told him I was getting quotes for 250, eventually jumped down to 300 cash. Did a decent job of fixing the dents. I saw the bottom sheild was loose. Told him to tighten it. He said go home and just use zip ties. Going home realized he used half my tank of gas and the whole car smelled like cigs. I heard a sound from drivers side. Pulled over to see this guy didn't even bother clipping on the fender lining on the inside tire. I pushed it back in hoping I could make it home, just for it to rip out and get tossed on the m3. Went the next day back, he tightened the sheild and told me I needed to buy new parts. Even though it was his negligence that caused the lining to get shredded. Told him atleast stick the bumper bracket. He said no. I'll do them all together when you get the parts. It's been 3 days and he's been declining my calls and going ghost. Make sure to check all this guy's work. Cuz he won't care about your car. Go here if you want someone to botch you car

   I recently had my car serviced at J and A Motors, and I couldn’t be more impressed. The team is incredibly professional and knowledgeable — they clearly know what they’re doing and take great pride in their work. One thing that really stood out to me was how clean and careful they were while working on my vehicle. It’s not something you always see at a mechanic’s shop, and it definitely made me feel confident in their attention to detail. The receptionist was also fantastic very kind, welcoming, and helpful in explaining everything I needed to know. He made the whole process smooth and stress-free. On top of that, their prices are very reasonable, especially considering the high level of service they provide. Overall, I highly recommend J and A Motors to anyone looking for a reliable, honest, and skilled mechanic.

   I recently visited this garage to get my passenger seat repaired. Mo, the body work man, was absolutely excellent. Even though he was evidently very busy he still took my chair in to fix. Other garages advised that I buy a new chair completely and replace it, however Mo fixed my original chair in two days for an excellent price. I will definitely be recommending this garage and using it for any future problems. Thanks Mo!
