We recently took our car to this garage for a full service and MOT. We provided all the necessary parts ourselves, including three filters, oil, front and rear brake pads, and requested that the brake pads be replaced—which was done. However, the overall experience has been frustrating and unprofessional. During the initial visit, we were informed that the MOT had failed due to a faulty front daylight module and that the front suspension arm needed replacing. We were told that once we ordered the module and returned the car, the MOT retest would be free. The quote for everything was £200. There was also an advisory that a seatbelt couldn’t be tested due to a child seat in place. While we accepted that was our oversight, it’s worth noting that the garage could have easily removed it. After ordering the necessary parts (including the light module), we called the day before to confirm that we would return with the car. The garage agreed and assured us they could also source the suspension arm on the same day. My husband also asked for two front tyres to be changed during this second visit. He dropped the car off at 8 a.m., explained everything again, and paid £570 upfront—with the agreement that I could collect the car later that day. At 4 p.m., we were called to say the car was ready, and I arrived 15 minutes before closing to pick it up. That’s when the issues started. • When I turned on the lights, the front daylight was still not working. • I checked the tire pressure and noticed that one of the new front tyres had no air in it. • I went back in and raised both issues. The mechanic admitted that the light module was never replaced, even though it had been paid for. • He insisted the tyre was fine, but upon checking, confirmed there was no air pressure. • While he was fixing the tire issue, I looked at the MOT certificate and noticed that the advisory about the child seat still hadn’t been removed, even though it had definitely been taken out that morning. At this point, I had paid for a light module replacement that wasn’t done, had no confidence the front suspension arm or wheel alignment had been completed, and had serious doubts about the quality and honesty of the service. We were treated unprofessionally despite paying a considerable amount upfront and giving clear instructions. The mechanic failed to complete critical parts of the job, made excuses, and did not check or communicate properly about the issues we had flagged. I do not recommend this garage. They are disorganized, dismissive, and clearly failed to deliver on services they charged for. Be very cautious if you’re considering them for repairs or MOT work.
I went there I had the flat tire. I didn’t know what happened to the tire so I told him to check it if it’s any holes or any screws if it’s fixable, I can use it because the tire was brand-new. He won’t check it. He was saying I’m gonna shut now but he had time to sell me a new tire. my tire didn’t have no screws no holes whatsoever. Just went flat for some reason he wouldn’t even bother to check it. He just wanted to sell me a new tire. Then he wanted to charge me £20 he didn’t even want to balance the whale very disappointed with the service I use them a few times, but with the owner very disappointed very bad attitude
Amazing service. I broke down and needed my car fixing asap. Managed to get in me in same day, sort the problem, service my car and have it all done by the time I finished work. Also explained everything they have done, kept me updated during the day and very very reasonably priced. Highly recommend and will defiantly be using again!
AFG Autos always to the rescue, amazing service from the team, even from the guys at the car wash, very friendly and nice. AGF gets my car fixed if i have any issue and MOT sorted, services etc my GO TO garage.
After years of being loyal customer, will never put my foot again. Owner is more fake than his teeth. Tried to rip me off for few hundred pounds. Told me job was few hours. I went on youtube, fixed the problem in 10 minutes. Not trusted as used to be. What a shame. Another time tried to charge me £50 for part that cost £8 in eurocar parts. Bad if you are a loyal customer, even worse if you are a woman, as you will be extra lied to and extra charged. Garage used to have a good reputation but something went horribly wrong. Sorry Sahid, you won't see me again.
I broke down in central Watford on a short break from Salisbury My breakdown recovery towed me to the hotel I was staying in and told me the nearest garage was AFG Travelling on my own and along way from home felt suddenly very vulnerable This garage was fantastic bearing in mind it was the hottest day of the year and they were clearly very busy I explained I was only in Watford for 2 nights This garage towed my car did the diagnostic checks got parts and fixed all in time for my return journey at a seriously reasonable price Really impressed and very thankful they turned out to be my “Knights in Shining Armour” If I lived closer would always use these guys
They say one price on the ohone to you and when youre their after they done the work charged double. I made sure to confirm the price a day before and he said yes. On the day of the work done (brake pads and calliper) he charged near enough double. I travelled far to come here thinking it's a good price however it was the worst prices out of all the options i had. Will never recommend
