I had my van MOT done today and it failed on lower suspension arm. They called me and said they could fit the new part the same day . That is a fast service and the van is fine and Moted for another year . Highly recommend them and will be using them again for future repairs.

Summary: Great for servicing, but too overzealous with MOT, using non-value adding advisories in order to cover back (i.e. manufacturer fitted undertray) Decided to use THM Sport for my annual MOT and Service after reading all the positive reviews. The garage itself is well maintained, properly equipped and is owned by someone with a racing background. Staff were also friendly too and I remember seeing a supercharged Mk6 golf and RS4 which were cool. The interim service aspect was fantastic (5/5) and my car is feeling really responsive and smooth, and they also topped up my tyre pressure so really do appreciate that too. Also updated iDrive system which is also a nice touch. However, I was let down by the MOT (1/5) - although it was a pass with no major or minor issues, I did notice an advisory for the (factory fitted) undertray and queried it with the garage, who advised me to ignore it as they just do it to "cover their back". This effectively places the testers self-interest above being fair and reasonable, especially when this hasn't been flagged as an advisory in prior MOT's with other garages. I'm quite upset by this as it just seems like an unnecessary advisory compared to something which could develop into a fault but isn't an issue. By this logic, almost every single modern car will have an advisory for an undertray. Whilst I understand there is need for honesty, integrity and professional scepticism - handing out such advisories to protect ones own back seems excessive and unfair and now tarnishes an otherwise clean MOT history (however, I do understand advisories for child seats, tyres, brakes and windshields etc and agree they should be stated). Overall, 3/5 - I'd recommend THM Sport for servicing as they did a fantastic job with that, however I would consider somewhere else less overzealous for an MOT. Great garage, just feel a little let down by the "back covering" approach to the MOT regarding the manufacture fitted undertray (only because it ruined a perfectly clean history and possibly devalues the car). Disclaimer: If I wasn't so pedantic and OCD about having a clean MOT history then I'd say its a fantastic garage, however I still don't agree with the practice of issuing advisories just to cover backs at the detriment of an otherwise clean MOT record, for a manufacturer fitted undertray. Disclaimer 2: Whilst I am not fully placing blame blame the garage, I'd say the rules & regulations regarding the MOT test itself is flawed and should be revised by the DVSA. Why does the MOT aim to provide full assurance on the roadworthiness of a vehicle when manufacturers, by design, prevent a 100% inspection? Features like undertrays and engine covers, common in modern cars, limit access to certain components during testing. Given these constraints, shouldn't the MOT include a disclaimer stating that full assurance cannot always be guaranteed due to these design limitations? Furthermore, instead of grouping exclusions under advisories, wouldn't it be more appropriate to have a separate section for items that could not be tested? This would avoid incorrectly classifying exclusions as potential issues, which can lead to both MOT testers overcompensating to avoid liability and consumers mistakenly blaming testers, despite the inherent limitations of the test.

I had an intermittent issue for 4 years with my Morgan which was not resolved by 2 other βspecialistβ garages. Trevor at THM was determined to fix this. Sorted! Would highly recommend this family run, passionate and honest proper car garage.

Fantastic. Professional and proficient. My old Audi TT required four wheel tracking carried out as it was quite some way out, causing uneven tyre wear and the steering wheel to not centre. Along with not handling like it should. Car now handles brilliantly and the steering is centred! Will use again.

What a bunch of really lovely and helpful people! I called at 8am as I couldnβt open my petrol cap and my oil light had come on. They saw me 20 minutes later and changed my oil and fixed my petrol cap, as well as showing me how to notice the warning signs (which was so helpful)! Just all round lovely people that genuinely do what they do to help people! Thanks again!
