   I went in today to get a quote for an alternator replacement on my Audi Q7. While checking the engine bay, the guy yanked off the cover and broke one of the clips. Now the cover sits uneven, and there’s nothing I can do about it. It’s a £235 part, and it honestly bothers me every time I look at it. If he’s willing to fix the clip or replace the cover, I’ll happily update or remove this review. And just for this I’ll be taking my business elsewhere! And also if the guy wants to say that he didn’t break the clip I have timed security footage of me removing the battery charger and shutting the bonnet before I left 5 min before I arrive there and the guy can tell you himself that nobody else touched that engine cover except my son who un clipped the other side for him when he pulled the cover off!

   Took my wifes Mercedes 9 years old to get the auxiliary battery changed and replacement brake pads. After they diagnosed the problem it was a capacitor that had failed which they then replaced, they happily dealt with the warranty company to ensure the works were covered. They also advised the brake pads did not require replacing, demonstrates how honest they are. All this was done within a day and my wife collected the car. She commented she received the same warm welcome I got and even commented how comfortable she felt dealing the the guys down there. They know how to put you at ease. The service they provided was better than the Mercedes dealership we normally use and they are good as you would expect for the prices you pay!!!. Unit Exchange are fantastic, the labour charge very fair and extremely good for the highly experience guys there. I would highly recommend this family run business, I am certainly going to be using them again.

   Brad fixed a refurbished alternator that had been playing up since it was fitted to a BMW 1 series. He identified that the device was generating 19Volt spikes that was upsetting all the warning systems on the car causing multiple errors to appear in the dash - normally only in the 1st 5 minutes after startup. Alternator was completely refurbished and looked like new when I picked it up. Car has performed with any error reports since fitted. Highly recommend.

   Strongly recommend to ask for quotation before any job carried out by this workshop Very hard to get any estimated cost after providing all details. Alternator reconditioned very quickly(ready on next day), however no estimation about cost despite the clear question was asked, final bill of £444 was a surprise and reconditioning at Unit Exchange was cost-ineffective as brand new alternator could cost from £200 up to £360(Valeo-same as fitted by vehicle manufacturer, not Chineese import). All vehicle details were provided, the faulty part was also specified(alternator), but they avoid to answer the question about the cost Fitting service priced fairly-£60 per hour, however 2 hours to take out the alternator and fit it back is bit long for professional, can be acceptable for someone who do it first time. Commenting my other feedbacks also not professional especially that commentator was not a witness of my visit elewhere.

   Bradley was extremely helpful. I had difficulty locating a replacement starter, another place had supplied an incorrect unit too which was disappointing. When I spoke to Bradley he assured me he had a new unit on the shelf and kept it for me whilst I drove over 50 miles to collect it. Now it’s installed tonight and working perfectly. Thanks again.
