I attended this morning regarding my granddaughter . We had gone through 111 and were asked to attend to see the pharmacist at dorridge. Staff at pharmacy I spoke to did not have good customer service skills! Pharmacist was lovely, but said it was inappropriate referral and needed to see GP. Went to knowle surgery and was met by a very understanding and empathetic receptionist ( who usually works in admin at the rear of reception) Unfortunately I did not get her name only that she finished at 1300 today ! She was so kind and professional and documented everything resulting in a phone call for a face to face appt this afternoon at one of the practices local . Thank you very much and your attitude and kindness was very much appreciated.

Trying to get an appointment has always been needlessly difficult, I have been at the practice for the last couple of years and am not sure why I have bothered, and thus intend to move elsewhere. I'd advise anyone looking for a practice to avoid Knowle Surgery and GPS healthcare in general if you want a real GP practise that doesn't make you jump through loops on various strange booking/request platforms just to get a phone appointment, shambles.

This place deserves 0 stars and I will be making a formal complaint about them. Impossible to get an appointment and my elderly relatives have suffered nothing but stress due to the lack of care from this practice. To top everything off they have lost an important letter from the hospital which required a counter signature from the doctor. They don’t care and they haven’t offered a resolution and have left a grieving family in limbo for weeks. So unacceptable and I pity anyone who has an urgent issue and needs to be seen here, I have heard nothing but bad things about this place.

How fortunate we are to have Dr Shaquille in Knowle. I have had 2 appointments with him he was polite, and professional. He very quickly diagnosed my potentially dangerous problem he was calm and reassuring and referred me quickly to the hospital. On my follow-up today he explained the outcome answering my questions fully. I left today understanding the way forward and feeling very comfortable.

A great team of GP’s always able to get an appointment on the same day if needed which I know most surgeries can’t offer.

Knowle surgery is one of the worst performers in the region amongst its Peers. Previously a young British girl at the reception was nothing but a racist. I myself avoided having face to face action with her. Later the brought an old lady at the reception who was very polite and receptive. Today there was another young girl at the reception or should I say behind the reception. After getting an appointment 4/5 weeks ahead of the booking at the surgery after concentrated efforts of days, when I visited the surgery for an appointment 15 minutes before the allocated time, there was no one at the reception, though one could hear the staff busy chatting with each other in the room behind the reception. I waited at the reception for 5 minutes but no one turned up. I tried to log on to the appointment tablet but it is out of order since months and still not working. Though the surgery might be minting money but they have not bothered to have the tablet repaired. So I took a seat in the waiting room also as per past practice as a nurse or a doctor used to come and call out the names of the visiting patients at the waiting room. After waiting 20 minutes of my allocated time and still inside the waiting room, I was surprised to receive a message that I had not attended the surgery and the appointment was cancelled. I approached the reception to find out that there were at least 5 people in the queue and the receptionist, as usual, was busy chatting with her colleagues. When she was done with her chat, she approached the window to attend to the patients at her convenience. When my turn came I told her that I am sitting in the waiting room for the last 20 minutes. She asked me if I had registered myself. I told her that I waited at the desk for 5 minutes and no one was present at the desk so I took a seat in the waiting room. She told me that she was busy over the phone with a patient, which position was not correct. Now she has given me another appointment which is after 3 weeks. It’s a shame that the Management and the staff of this surgery, both are not attending to their duties and what is required of them. It also seems that the management of this surgery is incompetent and no staff wants to work with him. That’s why you see a new face at the counter every time you visit this surgery. The way the receptionist was behaving seemed that she will not be with the surgery for long. Patients have to suffer because of the management’s incompetence. Call the surgery over the phone and your turn will not come in less than an hour. It is because of the shortage of staff which is attending both phone calls and meeting patients face to face. NHS must take notice of the highhandedness of these surgeries so that the citizens do not have to suffer from the management’s regressive practices.

Called a total of 17 times and was up ready for 8am, to be told user busy. How can I rely on this doctors surgery when I can’t even get through to them. It’s an absolute joke, sort it out.

Terrible service from the receptionists who are RUDE RUDE RUDE. Have been trying to contact the surgery for days, always says that you are 36 in the queue, rediculas. Have tried to find an email address to find out information about appointments, as my son had one today. As it says not to attend I do not know what we should do, and as there is no way of contacting the surgery I suppose I will do nothing. Not user friendly at all, even It is so hard to get an appointment as they say appointment book is full, but when you do manage the waiting room is neat empty. The only good thing I can say about this surgery is that this Doctors have a very different attitude and are friendly and actually listen, which is commendable these days. Thi k they should consider getting new receptionist they really let the surgery down.
