Receptionists are very stand offish and not keen to help. Feel like they are talking down to you and you are in the way...lack empathy warm and personality.. Its like the drs are guarded away. Dr was fine once waited 45 minutes after appt time to see one

Son was very sick in hospital. He has been out aweek and still no wheelchair. They told us they didn't receive referral form but you did. I have friends that have told me they did. So as of now it will be over a week. Just thought I would make it public. The next move is the papers

If it’s their fault then it’s not a problem. But if the patient arrives just 9 minutes late despite the appointment been booked under emergency situation then the patient can just rot and wait and shiver for hours in front of them. Couple weeks ago I went there and checked in on time and everything and their inefficiency that I sat waiting for 2+ hours before I got seen and eventually when they realised they messed up the logistics then apologised and got me through to the doctor. Just miserable experience.

Not long moved to this surgery. I love their booking system and their reception staff are soooo friendly. Never had a better surgery. Always quick to return requests and their new booking system is in my opinion a much better way of organising appointments for a doctors surgery as people get seen according to urgency and I’ve never had issues getting appointments for myself and children.

I phoned to enquire about Covid jab over 2 weeks ago. I know presently this is only offered to 75’s and over. I’m 73. However, lm asthmatic and recovering from breast cancer. No one seemed to know if l qualified, at first. Advised ‘no’ l didn’t!! I enquired at Lyng Pharmacy and received jab there last week. Still awaiting to receive link from Surgery for flu jab!! Was told this would be sent during first week of Oct. I had mine today at Walk In Pharmacy on Shady Lane. However text received regarding a ‘Cake Fundraiser’. As most of us say, the Surgery should have been brilliant after 3 local Practices were amalgamated, but it never transpired. So many Consulting Rooms, hardly used. Amazing, still have to go to Tower Hill for routine blood tests. Bearing in mind there are Nurses at Surgery!!! So very frustrating. Time Senior Doctors got to grips and gave us Patients of many years, the standard services we deserve there

I did have to wait a while for an appointment but this is due to NHS national problem and not solely Great Barr medical Centre. I saw Senior Physiotherapist David & Dr B Ratti. Both of them were excellent, they did thorough examinations and really put the effort in to find out exactly what was going on. Prior to this I have been assessed at a private hospital (whilst waiting 6 weeks for this appointment) and i can honestly say Great Barr Medical Centre did a better job! Would've been 5 stars but there was a lot of issues at reception (under staffed) and the patient elevator wasn't working.

The reception have always been very lovely every time I call or go in, however, The only way to get an appointment with this practice is to call at 8am for a same day appointment. You wait in a 30 minute queue to find they have all gone. They don’t offer anything other than same day appointments. I’ve also tried to arrange my cervical screening with them and they often don’t have the clinics open or offer an appointment too short notice to be able to arrange with work.

YOU CANT GET AN APPOINTMENT EVER! 128 times ringing from 8am. Get through at 8.15 to be told no appointments. I told reception my mental health is at risk and she didn't even care! Patients are being treated like animals with this system and this is why suicide rates will become higher! Doctors do not care about the wellbeing of their patients . I havent had a face 2 face appointments in over 2 years and i have let my illnesses get worse because of the doctors booking system. This surgery is failing it's patients don't be fooled with how nice it looks

Can never get an appointment, was actually trying 25 minutes to join the queue, consequently no appointments were available. I told the receptionist when I finally got through, that I has been asked to call for a medication review since some of my medications has been stopped without warning (including an asthma medication!) was simply told to try again next week. Lets hope I don't have an asthma attack from now until I can get through, whenever that might be.

Awful!!! If you're ever fortunate enough to get through all they ever offer is a telephone call back. Dr kept ringing my old phone number even though I told them repeatedly that I'd changed it. All the receptionist says is call 111 total joke. Had an on going issue with my ear now for a month and still haven't had a GP physically look at it . Basically the GP uses guess work to diagnose you over the telephone hoping something eventually works. We were told to protect the NHS throughout Covid , it's about time the NHS started to protect us by sorting out the GP surgeries.
