Amazing people....I am exhausted but exhilarated after the birth of my Grandson today. My daughter ,Megan, had a long long and tiring labour but we couldn't have asked for a better team. I want to thank: Leah (Morelli) who was so kind gentle compassionate supportive empathetic and just wonderful. Leah made everything so much better and helped us through a long night. Pricilla (Obang) who came on at 7am and took over seamlessly from Leah. She was kindness itself...warm gentle supportive and compassionate and empathetic. She guided us through a difficult morning and was there once baby was born. Benedict, a lovely amazing anesthetist whose kindness and encouragement was fantastic James(Dr) who not only brought my Grandson into the world, and was super supportive and even checked in on Mum and baby before going home. To the support midwifes and shift leaders...who were brilliant. To Dr Buzz who listened explained and again so supportive. Thank you all so very much...I hope those mentioned get to know how much their kindness and support meant to Megan Yanis and I. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.x

Would NOT recommend and would never want to step foot in this hospital again. Staff do not respect your decision for anything, very forceful although it says on NHS website it’s states staff cannot force you to do anything however they do force you. My baby was taken away from me for 6 hours straight after birth for no reason. They lied and said my baby could stay with me at all times but they kept baby in neo natal unit and I was all the way on the other side of the hospital. They operated on my baby without consent, gave him antibiotics and numerous other medicines without mine or my husbands consent. They put him on a ventilator when he didn’t need it and gave him formula milk and loads of sugar water for no reason without any consent. I was horrified to see my baby with wires all over him, a ventilator, 2 canulars without consent and without any reason. I was only informed about my baby having a xray and a jab on the last day I was there. When I left hospital my baby had an infection which led to many doctor and hospital visits and more antibiotics for doing the procedure on him WRONG which was completely unnecessary, they left a piece of string inside my baby’s naval which I was horrified to see and was the reason he had such a bad infection. Please avoid Aisha Janjua like the plague, She’s a VERY rude woman with no manners, I was appalled at her disgusting behaviour and the way she spoke to me that other members of staff were shocked and apologised to me especially after asking me “are you’re happy for your baby to die” I have heard MANY women complain about this hospital and the disrespect we get when it comes to choosing things for our own babies. I wish I went to another hospital, I will unfortunately never be able to forget this horrible experience, the way I was spoken to and treated and the things they did to my baby for NO reason and NO consent.

We had a very frightening emergency situation on Wednesday night and the team at Birmingham Women’s Hospital were exceptional from the moment we arrived. The reception staff immediately came out to our car with a wheelchair to help my partner inside with real care and dignity. Every nurse we saw was calm, supportive and reassuring, and the doctor was thorough, clear and incredibly kind. What started as a horrible, stressful evening was handled with professionalism and compassion throughout. We’re genuinely grateful to every member of staff we encountered. Thank you for everything.

Had my son here and honestly.. considering it was my first child, i cant complain because everything went well for me. The midwives were able to pick up that something was wrong with my sons growth which led to me being induced and then an emergency c-section. My midwife was so kind and gentle with me and was there from beginning to end when i was let go the next day. When i was rolled into theatre all of the surgeons greeted me and put me at ease, they even spoke to me during my csection, i even forgot what was going on because i was so distracted. Thank you to those surgeons and my midwife

Thank you to Ward 8 staff, the 5th floor surgical team and the auxiliary staff, especially the fantastic porter, for your kindness and compassion during my stay today. I was an incredibly nervous patient, however, you all put me at ease. From the moment I arrived to the moment I was discharged, the care and service has been wonderful. I’m very grateful. What a wonderful team.

A huge THANK YOU from my wife and myself to the delivery suite and postnatal ward 4 staff who supported my wife and helped her during her labour journey at the Women's hospital. The midwives who helped and supported my wife during her labour, Jasmin and Hollie, were amazing and so very friendly; they listened attentively to my wife and helped her get the support she needed. At the postnatal ward, ward 4, staff members were amazing as well: Lily, Janade, Demi Banks and Hannah were super vigilant, fabulous and convivial. We are grateful to you guys; keep up the good work ...

Fantastic experience at the Birth Centre here. The staff went above and beyond to allow me to have the birth I wanted and I couldn’t thank them enough for their support during the whole process. A special mention to Jess, Kate, Claire and Sam for helping bring my little girl into the world! I’ve also used triage pre and post birth and the midwives working on this unit are so lovely! Thank you

At 27 weeks pregnant I had bleeding and was terrified. Triage reception staff were very efficient and kind. Was seen within 15mins at triage. The nurses and Dr's were amazing. I was transferred to ward 1 for observations, again nursing staff (Sophie and Becca) were so compassionate. Had lovely student nurses, HCAs and domestic staff also. My sonographer Nyarie made me laugh so much I nearly wet myself, passionate about her job and put me at ease. I feel confident I will be looked after here when I go into labour. How wonderful and lucky we are that we have this brilliant service here for free. Thank you Birmingham Women's and Children's hospital.

I had surgery here yesterday for endometriosis, and the staff could not have been more lovely if they tried. I have had endo surgery before at another hospital and it wasn’t a great experience, so combined with some of the bad reviews this hospital has I was very nervous. However, I had nothing to be worried about! Chidi (I hope I’m spelling that right!) and one of the student nurses on Ward 8 were amazing, they made me feel comfortable throughout the day and were so friendly. The surgical team visited me before and after surgery and made sure I was comfortable with everything, and were incredibly helpful. And the staff in the recovery room were amazing, they were so calming and reassuring - I was at ease the whole time that I was in good hands with people who are passionate about their jobs. Thank you so much to all of the nurses and doctors here, they are all amazing and I could not have had a better experience! The only reason I’m rating 4 stars is because of the gynecology outpatients department. I’ve not had the best experience there with prostap appointments, with the reception being almost impossible to access by phone and sometimes quite rude to patients. Though I understand this department must be under a lot of pressure, time management with appointments / the nurses who take blood tests could be reviewed. Other than this, the hospital is amazing and I would 100% recommend it to anyone struggling with endometriosis.
