My grandson had low blood sugars. he had to stay in for two nights for treatment .The doctors and nurses were absolutely brilliant. The chair/bed for parents and carers however was absolute awful. I never slept a wink. The so called bed is as hard as rock. I am now suffering with a bad back. Can you please change back to the pulldown beds that were there had before? At least you could sleep which is really important if you are looking after a poorly child.

Not a good experience. Doctor lacked professionalism and knowledge. Poor communication and I was extremely disappointed with how the Doctor handled my child. An upsetting experience.

Today I visited with my 7 year old for bloods test. 2nd time actually coming in a space of 3 weeks. Absolutely outstanding nurses really try and keep my son calm but unfortunately no kids like to have bloods so he can be a bit difficult to keep calm but today Jess the play nurse and the two nurses who did the blood test Sura and Adriana was amazing with my son thank you!

Yesterday my son who is 5, who has autism and is non-verbal had a dental operation which went very well however, it was the care that was so amazing by the nurses, receptionist and the doctors. I couldn’t thank them enough, his mum was very nervous reassured her and made her feel comfortable, l the nurses understood that my son had sensory issues and made him feel comfortable, happy and didn’t try to put him through too much. showing him visuals of what they were doing before actually doing it ie putting cream on him and bandages. The doctors were great, Anaesthesiologist was great at explaining and open to questions. The doctor checking him before we were discharged was also fantastic and informative as well as you could sense again she cared and was a mother herself. They cared about his wellbeing and they did it with a smile.

Beautiful decorations for children to enter this hospital. In reception, the room has a mini playground for children to play while to waiting.

The buildings at St Helier are a bit dilapidated, but really can't fault the effort and care of doctors and nurses. The facilities inside aren't great but they're not bad. (If people who complain about a public hospital want to complain, go and visit public hospitals in third world countries and you'll have a new appreciation and respect for NHS hospitals). Our daughter was admitted with a broken femur a fortnight ago and stayed for 5 nights, and was really looked after well. The nurses were very attentive and the doctors communicated very well and came to speak to us every day to update on progress.
