I discovered The Molly House one afternoon in Manchester — by pure chance — and what followed was a genuine revelation. As a former chef myself, well-versed in fine dining, it’s not easy to impress me — especially with simple ingredients. But here, simplicity was elevated to perfection. Every dish carried refinement and heart in equal measure. The food was spectacular: slow-cooked pork cheeks that melted into pure bliss (among the best I’ve ever had), tender roasted chicken infused with garlic, delicate shrimp pearls bursting with flavor, crisp breaded green olives, and soft white cabbage dressed with pesto and paprika — which unexpectedly became my absolute favorite, even ahead of the pork cheeks. It was my Ratatouille moment — that rare instant when taste and memory collide, when a meal becomes an experience. In a new city, I didn’t expect to find such warmth and authenticity, both on the plate and among the people. The gentleman behind the bar took his time to explain every beer with genuine enthusiasm and deep knowledge — a small gesture that made a big impression. My heartfelt thanks to the chef and the bartender for their care, passion, and dedication — you turned an ordinary afternoon into something truly special. The Molly House isn’t just a place to eat or drink — it’s where hospitality, craftsmanship, and soul meet. Thank You! Sincerely Constantin

Great bar and atmosphere. Service is a bit poor unless the lass who runs it is present but great for big trip beers. Some of the regulars are a bit snobby but in general it's a good vibe. "All gender" as the best v blues should be. Nice outside balcony upstairs. Not eaten here yet but food always smells delicious.

The waitress was lovely. Nice for a chat and checking to see if was all good. The food was outstanding. Those scallops made my whole night.

The Molly House in Manchester’s Gay Village is a cosy, characterful bar and eatery that blends Spanish and South American tapas with a relaxed pub atmosphere. The food is consistently praised for its flavour and presentation, with dishes like octopus and ox cheek standing out. The drinks menu is extensive, featuring a wide selection of craft beers, wines, and spirits. The interior combines rustic charm with vintage decor, creating a welcoming environment. Service is friendly and attentive, contributing to a pleasant dining experience. While the location is slightly tucked away on Richmond Street, it's well worth seeking out for quality food and a warm atmosphere.

Fantastic evening spent. Was able to accommodate my wife and I at short notice and staff were very friendly. The tapas was fantastic, reasonably priced and went very well with our equally reasonably priced drink. Decor was also right up our street. Would definitely return

Lovely food, nice atmosphere, very nice staff. We went there yesterday for a drink in the upstairs bar. Very pleasant and full but you could still hear what someone was saying to you. Today we are tapas downstairs, it was delicious. Thoroughly recommend.

Wonderful pub - lots of lovely cask ales and kegs, ciders, spirits and wines. Nice tapas too but I usually go for a pint. Staff are really great and it's a nice vibe too. Food available downstairs or a lovely pub room upstairs. Check it out - it's great.

Fist came here just after it opened a good few years ago. Set on three levels with bar on ground floor plus kitchen and second bar and lounge on floor above. Toilets on top floor. (All access toilet on lower floor.) Very good real ale selection. Think Red Willow usually on. Always liked the food.
