   I had called beforehand to speak to the owner Jane regarding accessibility and she went above and beyond to support us with our query. We came here with some friends and between us we had a mixture of starters and mains including the beef shin and the lamb rump. Everyone was really happy with their food which was really tasty and the portions were a good size. The owner/ chef came to chat to us at the end of the meal and it was lovely to find out a bit of background about the restaurant and the food with the meat being sourced directly from a rare breeds farm. Will come again and try the roast dinners.

   We had our wedding breakfast at Red Door Bistro and it was absolutely exceptional. Jayne and the team were fantastic from start to finish — professional, organised, and incredibly accommodating throughout the planning process. On the day itself, everything ran seamlessly. The food was outstanding: beautifully presented and genuinely delicious, with so many of our guests commenting on how good it was. The service was warm, attentive, and perfectly timed, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone. Red Door Bistro played a huge part in making our wedding day so special, and we couldn’t recommend Jayne and her team highly enough.

   Lovely place this, somewhat of a hidden gem that's been there around 15 years. We went for mother's Day and enjoyed the set menu at £32 for three courses that was good value for what we got. The good was great and good sized portions, the staff were busy but in control. The roast dinners come highly recommended. As is the pate, we'll be back soon.

From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted by a warm and intimate atmosphere. The dim lighting created the perfect cosy setting, making it feel like a special hidden retreat away from the hustle and bustle. The service was nothing short of exceptional even tho there was 8 of us for a anniversary. The staff were incredibly attentive, ensuring that every detail of our meal was just right without ever feeling intrusive. Their knowledge of the menu and recommendations were spot on, adding a personal touch that made the evening even more enjoyable. Now, let’s talk about the food—absolutely incredible. Each dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavour, clearly crafted with passion and skill. Every bite was a delight, from the starters to the desserts, with fresh, high-quality ingredients shining through. What truly set the experience apart was the personal touch from the head chef, who came out to speak with us. Hearing about the inspiration behind the menu and the love that goes into every dish made the meal even more memorable. It’s rare to find that level of dedication and connection in a restaurant, and it’s something that will keep me coming back. If you’re looking for an intimate, high-quality dining experience in Wigan, The Red Door Bistro is a must-visit. It may be hidden, but once you find it, you’ll never forget it.

   Went to this Restaurant on Mothers Day, was the same as usual..Brilliant, although it was busy, Service was friendly and efficient, Food was exceptional, as always, this is, in my opinion, the best Restaurant in the Area, without a doubt, Ambience inside is well designed and works very well, when we now dine in Wigan, we only dine here, Well done..take a Bow.

   I was absolutely positively impressed with the food and service at the Red Door Bistro. Not only they opened out of hours for my leaving do, they had an amazing menu that caters for my very unique dietary needs (gluten free and vegetarian) and it was an amazing experience. They stayed opened until we were satisfied and they even told us nice stories about credit card machines. I cannot recommend this place enough.

   Wigan best hidden gem! There are no words to describe both the food and experience Red Door Bistro offers. Jayne the owner literally pours her heart and soul into this culinary delight and it is evident to see. The customer service is second to none, and the menu and food served is so mouth watering, fresh and carefully thought through your biggest problem will be to actually decide on what to order. The atmosphere within this little hideaway is so relaxing and intimate you actually don't want to leave. As soon as you walk in the door you know the vibe and passion of this restaurant is their customers and ensuring you have the best experience possible. Honestly cannot thank Google ratings enough for suggesting this restaurant to me. We'll definitely be lifetime customers. And we just want to thank Janye and her team for everything they do ❤

   Jayne was serving when we visited in March, so I am looking forward to returning when she’s in the kitchen. The food was great value, and the ambience was perfect. Food was a little unseasoned for my preference, but I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice meal.
