Feedback received from a patient. I cannot praise King's Medical Practice enough for the help they have given myself and my wife, they have gone above and beyond. I want to thank the whole practice staff for everything they have done for us. Everyone at the practice, from the receptionists to the clinicians are friendly, helpful & professional.

I am extremely surprised with the negative reviews in relation to KMP.Both my wife and I are and have been consistently impressed and appreciative of the services provided by all staff we interact with including receptionists, nurses and of course the Doctors. We have been with the practice a long time over 36 years and have absolutely no complaints.

The GPs are generally attentive and provide good care. However, the service is let down by the administrative staff, who often come across as unhelpful and dismissive. It feels as though you're inconveniencing them just by calling or asking for assistance. Additionally, the new scripted system used for booking appointments and services is frustratingly rigid. Staff seem unwilling to exercise any discretion, even when common sense suggests flexibility would be more appropriate.

Where to begin…….here’s a start, after weeks of trying to sort out a medication issue which was never resolved I made a very legitimate formal complaint about the incompetence of this practice on 14th May 2024 as per both their own and the NHS’ complaints procedure. Kings only acknowledged my formal complaint after five days of pestering (they should respond within 24 hours) and as I write (yes almost 12 months later) I am still waiting for a response (the NHS charter gives them 28 days)…more recently, 23rd April 2025 I had to ring up to arrange a medication review…. The receptionist completely ignored what I said about my yearly bloods and BP checks and told me the in house Pharmacist would ring me “sometime next week”, well of course sometime next week has now been and gone without any call from the mysterious phantom Pharmacist so not only am I now low on meds (again) but seemingly another Kings Medical Practice farce begins…… other than long term meds I just don’t bother anymore, it’s easier to be ill, do yourselves a favour, see a vet instead.

I moved to this practice just over a year ago and I’m surprised by the negative reviews. I find this practice professional and efficient. Booking appointments has been really easy both via phone and in the app. With good availability for things like blood tests. I had to wait a little while for an appointment on one occasion but that was because I made the choice to see the same GP. I could have been booked in much more quickly with a different GP. Ongoing communication is brilliant and my GP has been proactive about following up with me via the NHS App/Patches. I’ve had some shocking experiences with the NHS and to be honest this practice has been a breath of fresh air.

Garbage service wait on hold for ages only to be told no appointments left for today. Can you guys not change your automated message service to reflect that. So that we don’t have to be on hold for thirty minutes to get told hard lines go be sick somewhere else.

A tragedy. It's almost impossible to get an appointment with a doctor. The receptionist with blond hair is very rude and surly. Instead of helping, she finds obstacles and problems to get rid of the patient. Every time I wanted to make an appointment with a small child, she referred me to Wakefield or she said there was no room left when in fact there were only two people in the waiting room, probably each going to a different doctor with a different problem. What used to be a friendly clinic now is just embarrassing low level service with a pretentious receptionist with a sneer when you leave a sick child and without any help. Doctors very helpful and polite, but callous reception to be released immediately.

I have always found the reception staff to be friendly and courteous, in person and also on the telephone. Today was no exception. I called in to the surgery at 5pm with an enquiry. The lady, who I think was called Amy, was very helpful and patient, especially as I had to go back in again, as I forgotten to ask for to some extra information. Thank you to all the staff for all your hard work.

I have recently moved from my old GP surgery to King's Medical and having read the reviews here I thought I had made a huge mistake. 1st call to them there was a 20 minute wait, I then requested the option of calback. 10 minutes later I was talking to a member of staff, everything sorted. Today I did the same to request a flu jab, by 4pm same day I had my flu and covid jab. All done. I then made a nurses appointment whilst there for December all booked in. I do understand the phone delays but can assure you it was the same in my previous surgery. By using the call back I got to the front of the queue quicker. I cannot fault them, everyone was nice and I hope under the staff shortages at the moment, people take that in to account.
