I like the store cleanliness, the store layout is good too, making items easy to locate, not so keen on the service at the argos desk tho, its badly managed, and slower than itnshould be given the amount of staff working there, as a retired manager myself i feel it could be much better, the sainsburys store manager seems to have everything in order tho and doing a great job

Lovely place. Not as many pensioners as last time. Bit pricey for certain goods.

The store itself is a decent size with a nice selection of products. The click and collect service is a letdown- it's not monitored by staff, and the intercom for requesting help when you arrive is broken. You're left with a basic handwritten sign telling you to call a number so someone can bring your groceries out. It all feels a tad neglected and needing basic fixes. Overall, potential is there, but the basics need serious attention to improve my rating.

If I could out 0 stars I would… RACIAL PROFILING AT SAINSBURYS CHEADLE. Today, my friend and I were racially profiled in Sainsbury’s Cheadle Hulme. What should have been a simple shopping trip turned into one of the most humiliating experiences I’ve ever had. We went in to buy drinks for my friend’s upcoming cabin trip. While looking around, my friend asked why the Wray & Nephew was in a box, and I casually said, “probably because people steal them.” I only mention this because a staff member walked past and made eye contact with me right after — maybe it’s relevant to what happened next. Soon after, we noticed a security guard watching us. Sadly, we’re used to that kind of thing, so at first, we ignored it. But then he started following us through the aisles, still watching while talking into his walkie-talkie. Another security guard began doing the same. It was uncomfortable, but I kept my composure. I knew we were going to pay for everything. Once we finished shopping, we went to the self-checkout near the exit because it was the only one available for both card and cash. The same guard stood right by the exit, still watching us. As I scanned my items, the store assistant came to verify my age for the drinks. She did that and then immediately walked over to the security guard. Moments later, he came straight up to me and said, “How are you going to pay for the items?” I was shocked. He hadn’t said that to anyone else — and there were 7 or 8 other people using self-checkout. I asked, “What?” and he said, “Oh, because you used Nectar points — how are you paying for the items?” My friend replied, “We’re paying by card.” He just said “okay” and walked away. I confronted him and said, “How dare you ask me how I’m paying after following me around the store?” He replied, “Sorry, I was just asking.” Then a man who seemed to be a manager came over and said, “If you don’t like the way you’re being spoken to, you know where the door is.” I couldn’t believe it. Instead of supporting me after I was clearly being targeted, the manager dismissed me completely. I left feeling degraded, belittled, and angry. I’ve been followed in shops before, but this was the first time I was openly confronted like that. No one should be made to feel criminalised just for existing while shopping. Racial profiling is unacceptable, and I refuse to stay quiet about it.

Honestly, I don’t know why Sainsbury’s bother selling plants as they obviously don’t care about maintaining them in the slightest. A massive load of dead plants has treated me on many occasions that I shop here. Wheel them out and let them die. If you can’t be bothered looking after them then don’t sell them - leave it to garden centres who di care!

Large store, lots of choice. Clothing range is great and excellent value for money. Cafe could have done with better cleaning and clearing of tables and the lettuce on my fish finger sandwich wasn't the best but great mug of tea and larger than usual.

Huge parking space. Large selection of goods. The fresh counters is a bit small. Many different things but all in small quantity. Toilets are available after 9 am. Pharmacy is in the middle and you can book jab here.

Really good, availability and variety of products was excellent. Prices are a bit higher than other supermarkets but the price matching to Aldi prices is a real bonus. Cost of petrol is excellent - way below other supermarkets and garages.

Extra Large supermarket hiding behind old train station. Caters mainly to student population and affects items on offer. Less luxury pricey items. Good alcohol selection, though. Chemist is not very good, frequently running out of stock and opening times different from store's.

Halal/kosher meat If you search for 'halal meat' in the help section of this website, you find a FAQ asking 'what is your position on halal meat?' I am disappointed that Sainsbury's chose to put this question on to the website as they don't appear to have done the same for other dietary requirements. The answer from Sainsbury's then goes on to say that 'the animal will be treated humanely and with utmost respect' . Within this context of the rest of the statement, this seems to imply that not stunning animals prior to slaughter, as is known to be the case often in halal meat production, is not humane. I question why no such statement has been issued for all meat products as vegans may be wondering the same about these. The answer then goes on to discuss kosher meat, which the question did not even ask about. My suggestion is that Sainsbury's remove this statement from their website. Your view on halal meat is clear as you sell a variety of products in many stores across the country-clearly this is a product that is profitable for the business. If you do buy halal or in fact any meat, it is probably best to purchase from a local butcher. You can choose the exact quantity you want, buy in bulk to store in then freezer for up to 6 months, significantly reducing the amount of plastic or other packaging used. Please read my reviews to see how other stores in this area compare.
