   Where do I begin.. the service here is appalling. New Years Day, all shops closed, to our saviour Sainsbury’s Local open until 9pm.. or so we thought. Me and my girlfriend arrived at 8:50pm, with the expectation of only needing 5 minutes. Before even stepping foot into the building the security guard reminded us we had 4 minutes.. firstly incorrect and also assuming we hadn’t already checked the closing time prior to our visit. We walked into the building, all shutters down on the fridge and large empty trollies lined the aisles (a tripping hazard if I may add). We searched the shop for what we managed to see through the obstacle course where an older lady with dark hair who was a staff member proceeded to basically follow us around the store pulling down the remainder of the shutters right infront of us while the rest of the staff member watched us shopping. She then interrogated us asking “do you know you have 3 minutes?” and continued to stare blank at me as some sort of intimidation tactic. We immediately felt uncomfortable and headed straight to the self check out. Obviously surrounded once again by all staff members, quietly talking amongst ourselves at the disappointment of the service here, she abruptly inserted herself into our conversation to let us know they all wanted to go home, at this point it was 8:56pm. We politely asked if 9pm was the correct closing time as she then replied “we only get paid till 9” to which we reminded her it was still not closing time. This is unacceptable. If you advertise as being open until a certain time, in no way do I expect to be pressured by staff and constantly feel uncomfortable throughout my visit. I would like to see change or at least advertise the correct time you no longer want custom.

   Terrible maintenance of the Costa Express machine. The staff intervenes only to shake the milk container. I don’t understand how do they even get off without getting penalised? The hot chocolate dripped from somewhere completely off, spilling the hot chocolate on borders of the cup basically. As someone who drinks hot chocolate from costa express regularly, It tasted weird today. Highly unacceptable.

   Terrible maintenance of the Costa Express machine. Just got lumps of I don’t even know what. The staff intervenes only to shake the milk container abruptly. I’ve worked with Costa machines myself and have faced penalties for tiniest of things like not cleaning coffee stains around the cup holder area. I don’t understand how do they even get off without getting penalised? After the staff’s shaking, my hot chocolate dripped from somewhere completely off, spilling the coffee on borders of the cup basically. As someone who drinks hot chocolate from costa express regularly, It tasted weird today. Highly unacceptable.

   I bought a Costa coffee here this morning and the milk was clearly off. After drinking it, I felt sick. This is unacceptable and potentially dangerous. Milk machines must be properly maintained and checked regularly. I would advise others to be cautious.

   Man barged past me with trolley then barged into my son with the same trolley and didnt even apologise. Picked up some apples and noticed they were all bashed and bruised. Son went to swap them and grumpy staff member, white , beard, about 40 told him he couldn't swap them?? Then when we went outside the same guy was standing smoking in the doorway. Usually I like going to this store but the staff you had on 13/10/2025 at about 6.15PM were rude and not helpful. Ill go to co-op instead now.

   poor staff. Horrendous experience at 7.44pm - absolutely chock full of people not wearing face coverings, not maintaining social distance. No wonder we are still in lockdown. The only staff intervention was "do you want to do self-service checkout" when more than 3 people queueing. Won't be returning until clear enforcement - just not worth the risk

   Lovely, helpful staff and convenient but always running out of essentials, like red top milk, bread etc sometimes for several days at a time. The manager needs to sort it out as stock levels have been problematic for years and no sign of improvement! I hear people complaining about lack of certain essentials almost daily, it isn't that difficult to sort out, so come on Sainsbury's sort it!

   This is decent shop. It can feel cramped inside but it packed with variety. The beer range xovered the popular ales. There is some parking around the back, if you can't get on there you could be cheeky and park on the Co-Op car park behind that. Be careful with traffic, as it can back up while people are trying to get on there.
