The shop is well stocked as all sainsburys usually are, but the place seemed a bit dreary. Its christmas time and the only decco was a few paper stars and 1 staff member in a christmas jumper. The mince pies also seemed to have no sugqr dusting on. If it wasn't the only big supermarket nearby I'd be going somewhere else

Definitely a decent supermarket with great parking and good location but I'm becoming concerned with quality, particularly in the "so" organic range. I've had badly worm eaten celery, and organic milk that had gone off the day I bought it. The organic honey is extremely dubious, it's very thin and says on the label "non EU sources" which usually means China. Tests on UK honey have shown very few legit honies in UK supermarkets. I'm unsure why sainsbury doesn't use UK sources or actually state where they get it. Finally, triple cooked chips, are they already triple cooked or are they cooked twice with the third cooking left to the consumer? If so that's like calling a raw potato a roast potato.

Accessible over a footbridge from the railway car park, this one is a bit out of the way from the town centre. First sight of the store sign from the footbridge honestly had a kind of post apocalyptic feel to it. Faded and overgrown I began to wonder what terrors might lay within as I approached. Fortunately (or otherwise depending on how much adventure you want in your life) the rest of the store was entirely normal, and offered everything you would normally expect from a Sainsburys. If you like your shopping with just a hint of adventure at the entrance then try this one out.

If you are staying in Matlock and need to do a bit of grocery shopping, you will first think this is a bit out of town -even when one considera how small Matlock town centre is. However, it can be closer than you think. Find the train station and there is a shortcut to Sainsbury’s via a bridge over the tracks. It is a clean store, a bit more compact than my local Sainsbury’s is, staff are friendly and helpful.

Very spooky looking on the outside but thank God for this as Matlock can be very remote

The staff were helpful and the store was reasonable and clean and found most of the items I needed. The main road to the store is blocked just after the entrance. From further up the road it is misleading as it appears the entrance could be closed. A small detail but worth mentioning.

Terrible service. Returned an item to the store with a receipt and card I paid on... told I had to have a gift card instead of a refund, which I found odd. I asked three times whether I could definitely use the gift card online as I don't live near a local store, two colleagues assured me I could... however I can't !! So now I have £30 on a gift card which is worth nothing to me and I can't use. Thanks so much for nothing.

I've not been here for a few years and I really enjoyed it, fantastic place to shop with plenty of staff to hassle if you have any questions. Really easy place to navigate, they have toilets, a place to buy tobacco products and lottery etc, there is even a big machine to tip all your change in and it gives you a receipt to take to the kiosk to get your cash. You can also scan your shipping as you go, bagging it up and then just pay. The prices are actually not bad, alot of stuff like biscuits etc were only 25p-50p so I will definitely be going again soon

Me and my husband was passing through Matlock. And decided to go do a bit of shopping in Sainsburys. When we got home i open a small pack of cheeses and it was mouldy. We live 13 miles away so i wasn't going all the way back.
