   Had both my Eyes done {cataract} at the Osset surgery,i was a bit nervous the first time ,but i was soon put at ease with all the staff and surgeon who explained everything to me ,they were absolutely fantastic ,a cannot thank them enough brilliant,if anyone is waiting to have Cataract done and feeling a bit nervous,dont worry the people at Spamedica will put you at ease ,and take good care of you like they did with me ,Thank You Spamedica you were amazing .

   I'm only 42 and the thought of having an operation on my eye terrified me. After initial referral by my optician for a cataract in 1 eye in March, Spa Medica made contact within a couple of days with a pre op assessment appointment at their clinic in Ossett. Initial appointment was well planned going through the various processes required & at the end I was able to book my operation date for the following week. Operation day I found helpful sat in the room with others waiting for drops to kick in. Others having it done were there for their second eyes doing & made it sound so easy. The op itself literally took 10 mins & then I was given my post op pack with drops in. Post op assessment was carried out with my optician & as she was unsure of something she referred me back to Spa Medica who when I did visit again, confirmed everything was fine. The staff I came across at Spa Medica on each visit were all friendly, helpful & put you at ease. In all, it has been 8 weeks from pre op assessment to full sign off & being able to get new glasses with my optician this morning.

   What a brilliant place this is. I was so scared about the thought of cataract surgery and to say I was anxious upon arrival is an understatement! Well I needn't have worried. I was put at ease straight away, the procedure was explained in detail every step of the way and the surgery itself was nothing like the horror I'd imagined! I have now had cataract surgery on both eyes. I had a different surgeon each time, and they were both lovely. Having this surgery has been over of the best things I've ever had done. I can see things in their true colours and I can finally ditch the rigid gas permeable contact lenses I have worn for 50 years. I can't recommend this place enough! Thank you.

   I had my first cataract surgery 3 days ago. I was feeling very apprehensive but was soon put at ease by all the lovely staff. The operation went smoothly and the surgeon explained what the procedure would entail. I won't be worried about having my second eye done. Definitely 5 star treatment and the coffee was good too!

   I haven't had my surgery yet but I'm impressed with the speed of progress leading up to it from seeing an optician to having a date for eyesight correction just three weeks, the staff are nice reassuring and very professional,pr one thing that does concern me though (after reading the pamphlet) is and this is not a reflection on SpaMedica in any way, why to have the top range of eyesight correction ie:- from what I can make out its all to do with the price of lenses, if you want lenses that give you a good range of distance sight and are also compatible for reading you can only get these lenses if you pay private, this is no reflection on SpaMedica just the bloody tightness of our governments with our money, most people that need corrective sight surgery are old, surely after the years of paying taxes etc they should all be entitled to the best care available and we're constantly told there isn't a two tier health system, my view is everyone should be entitled to the best eye care available.

   Absolutely appalling! They have a booking system for appointments which I used to book an appointment on a Saturday. I get there the building is closed. Tried calling them but no luck. After 20 minutes I got through, the lady said she'd look into it but heard nothing. Eventually the cleaner opens the door and says no one works on a Saturday. Why on earth do they have Saturdays on their booking system if they are closed. Called them again to discuss the above but the lady was dismissive and didnt seem to care.I wouldn't even give them 1 star.

   I had my second cataract operation yesterday 6th Sept and was very impressed with the service that Spa Medica provided - everyone was very polite and eager to please and most people smiled on meeting them - I have only one minor complaint and that is as I was rising from the operating table someone mentioned Margaret Thatcher - this could have put my recovery back a fortnight until I realised that they were discussing the new PM - I will forgive them as the ‘job’ at this early time seems first rate - thanks SM

   I have had two operations at Wakefield to remove a cataract from each eye and I am absolutely thrilled with the results. The venue is efficiently run and the staff there fill you with confidence and make you feel relaxed when you might be anxious. Thank you to everyone involved.
