Jummy’s Salon is an absolute 10/10! Jummy is such a wonderful woman with a big heart, and the moment I walked in, I felt truly welcomed. We had been to other places on the same street where the staff were quite rude, but Jummy was the complete opposite so open and kind that I honestly felt like I wanted to take her home with me! Her salon has such a warm, inviting atmosphere, and she makes you feel like more than just a client. I would 100% recommend visiting her, and I’ll definitely be coming back even if just to say hi! Thank youuuu X Catharina ❤️❤️❤️

I’ve been A customer of Jummy’s for a year now and I have been met with nothing but friendliness ,kindness and love. She treats you as if you are her own family and is very talented at what she does. Her work can only be fully appreciated by those who understand the high standard that she is working at. Every time I leave the salon I have a smile on my face. God bless Jummy and all the staff at the salon

I came to Jimmy Unisex Hair & Beauty Salon in Kilburn needing a quick refresh on my boho braids—just the front/perimeter redone. Jummy was available same day, which I really appreciated, and the price was reasonable. She worked relatively fast, and I was out within a couple of hours after bringing the hair back. The only reason it's not five stars is because I had to assist a bit with the takedown and passing the hair during the install, even though she had someone helping. Still, I’d recommend her for fast, fairly priced service when you're in a pinch!

Edit: I messaged Jummy after another stylist told me that my hair is falling out due to the way Jummy styled it, and Jummy berated me over message with slurs and abusive language before blocking me, telling me it was gods reward for the way I am. To those wanting to get Locs/Braids, never go to a place like this salon. Go to somewhere that has a reputation, a clear portfolio and social media presence that has a clear pricing structure per hours While it’s annoying to take the time to get a consultation ( and sometimes pay for said consultation ) stylists like Jummy don’t care about the health of your hair. They want you in and out of the chair ASAP and don’t care for your hair health at all. All of the 1 star reviews are true. The space of the Salon is completely unsanitary. Expect to see days old hair on the floor, hairbrushes that haven't been washed etc. Jummy the owner of the Salon is routinely unprofessional. Interpersonally, Jummy has a grandiose and aggressive personality; on several occasions I have been shouted at or made fun of by Jummy while I was getting my hair braided/ detangled. I have been gaslit into thinking that I am a high maintenance client due to my mixed race hair and that Jimmy's aggressive rough style of detangling and braiding hair is correct. In another instance I was in agonising pain the chair due to how painful Jummy's - dry - detangling was and I asked for a break and Jummy ignored me and only stopped when I raised my voice and told her to stop and she told me to be a man. In terms of the services offered, several times throughout my time getting my hair braided here Jummy has actively done the opposite of what I have asked. For example, most recently I came in to get a retwist to get starter locs/twists turned into proper locs. I showed Jummy a video and several photos of what I wanted and I was told this was impossible, because I had a sensitive scalp. After being convinced I needed to get a full wash + condition + getting my hair braided from scratch ( the more expensive option) Jummy showed picked up a Crochet needle and asked "this is what you wanted right" and I said "no I just wanted a retwist like I asked" and she made a gesture that was along the lines of "Oh well" and then charged me £120. On price, Jummy has no set price list and since going there getting the same style done + a detangle has actively increased from £80-£120; in one instance Jummy quoted me for £100 on the phone and talked me up to £120. Another example is when I asked for my hair to be washed and then detangled for box braids; the detangle was done essentially dry after a brief wash of my hair with shampoo. Conditioner was not soaked in my hair and it was not detangled wet as is standard. Detangling is routinely done dry, even after if you specifically requested it be done after conditioning. My hair has always was washed quickly, wrapped in a towel, and then brushed painfully while still dry — which is not standard or safe practice for curly/mixed hair. Another is when I went into get cornrows and Jummy did a completely different style than what I showed. To Jummy's credit if you want a braider/loctician who will take last minute appointments etc she is incredible; she has saved me a few times being able to take appointments last minute. However now having done some of my own research I am now aware that the hype around getting your hair braided is always a painful process is untrue. Jummy is a predatory business person who is actively unprofessional, unpleasant and disrespectful. Avoid.

I used this service for face cleaning, and I am afraid the lady, although let me spend about an hour under the steam, she never took out my spots. Unfortunately, that was the reason why I attended my sessions. This has happened twice, before I realised it, and I stopped going there. Ma sarà!

Although the quality is very good this business is not run very professionally I had been there 3 times in the space of three months and the price was different every time originally I paid 35 for braids the second time she informed me the price was 45 while I was already in the chair. my only advice is to establish a secure price before hand because if they feel like you have money they will swindle you this is why other salons nearby on the high road are visibly more popular.

This service was absolutely disgusting and the skill is horrible. I went to this place on the 23 July 2021 wanting threading as I asked if they do, they said yes so I went in. The woman had a low pink Mohawk did the treading was rough with her hands and handle me with no respect. As you can see in the photo there is still a ridiculous amount of hair that has not been threaded off. It is not neat at all plus she also used a tweezer when I specifically asked for threading. No health and safety was used as she put her unwashed hands all over my face and no attention to detail was used as she kept swiping her thumb across my eyebrows to see if they were neat. As well as no sanitary precaution took place. If I could I would of not paid and walked straight out. I should of demanded a refund as this is not what I paid for. PLEASE DO NOT SPENT YOUR GOOD HARD EARNED MONEY HERE!!!! If I could score it a minus I would.
