I booked an appointment for contact lenses due to an issue in my left eye where I was seeing something like a spider web. I received a call before the appointment asking if I could come earlier, but unfortunately I couldn’t due to other commitments. When I arrived at Specsavers in Wakefield, it became clear that my appointment needed to be changed from a contact lens check to a full eye examination, as my symptoms were concerning. The Specsavers team went above and beyond to find me an appointment at the same time so I could be checked as soon as possible. The appointment itself went very well. All issues were identified and clearly explained to me, including what steps I needed to take next. I was really pleased with the effort and professionalism of the whole team. My only suggestion is that when patients complete the questionnaire and are contacted beforehand, the caller could also assess whether the booked appointment type is appropriate, not just whether the patient can attend earlier. This could help avoid last-minute changes and reduce stress for both staff and patients. Overall, I would highly recommend!

I had a wonderful experience at specsavers! I had a lovely lady called Rebecca serving me, she was very smiley and chatty and made me feel safe and confident using contacts for the first time! 5 stars! You have lovely staff members who should be widely appreciated!

The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. They sorted everything out for me and helped me choose my new glasses. The optician explained everything to me and answered all my questions and I feel I know much more about the health of my eyes after my visit.

From entering the Opticians to leaving with my glasses it was a great experience. The staff were very polite and knowledgeable. Over the last four visits to an Opticians this ( and especially the new glasses ) was the best experience I have had. I will return here again.

There is always a welcoming atmosphere and every member of staff seems to know what they are doing. Appointment times are kept and examinations seem thorough. You get the feeling that they want the best for you rather than to just sell glasses.

Booked an eye test with my wife on the same day and the service was exemplary. The optician was very helpful as were the staff with assistance in choosing the correct frames for me

Thorough attention to detail and great explanations about what they were testing my eyes for and the impact the changes I lens types were having.

Had to take the 11 year old daughter for eye test, she was a bit nervous so I planned to sit in with her . She had to go upstairs, well , there's no access to upstairs apart from stairs , the advisor told me as I'm stood there with my 3 month old daughter in a new pram(quite bulky) .I could see from my daughters face she didn't want to go by herself . The advisor then spoke to another advisor about me leaving the pram downstairs ,which I declined as my 3 month daughter was asleep . So I inhaled a large breath and solo carried the pram upstairs (and downstairs after the test ) , however no staff member tried to help even though there was at least 3-4 standing around waiting on customer entries etc and they watched me struggle with this, and like there was male staff around too.I accept I could have waited downstairs but a little bit of customer service would have been appreciated in this instance

Had an eye test here it was manic, too many people in and not enough staff to deal with you. After I chose my glasses I stood for 20 mins no one came to see to me despite asking staff I wanted to purchase the glasses, so I returned the glasses and paid for my prescription and left. I shall not come here again poor service

I used to love this store but it’s really gone down hill this past year. Who trains their staff? They’re the rudest people I’ve met in a long time… they moan about customers in front of them and they would rather talk among themselves than help customers who are just left standing about. As I was waiting to be checked in, I was forced to listen to two staff members discuss what they were having for tea that night! The female manager who served me spoke to me and another staff member like absolute dirt, I actually felt quite sorry for the girl! Horrible atmosphere, horrible staff and a horrible manager. Won’t be coming back that’s for certain.
