I used to use this practice over 10 years ago before it was taken over by Valentines and this was my first visit back to the surgery, as I am now fostering 2 cats. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, and got all the registration details sorted very efficiently, but I did find that the reception area itself, whilst very clean and spacious, now feels cold and clinical and not very welcoming. Having taken our cats to Lynne previously, I was absolutely delighted to see that she was still there. She has a wonderfully calm way about her, which communicates itself to the animals; everything is explained and discussed fully and she is lovely to deal with.

I've been coming to this vets before it became valentine's vets and wouldn't take my furry family members anywhere else. Always compassionate, friendly and respectful. My senior GSD is anxious on vet visits and can be reactive with other dogs, they always take this into account and give him quiet times to come and they always work at my dogs pace making a stressful time for him friendly and so much easier, whilst also being thorough and giving great advice.

Love Lynn she has been there for so many years and is an excellent veterinarian, she is naturally empathetic with you and so caring with your pet. Also Olga at Castleton branch was so amazing with the end of life care for my beautiful doggie Ollie and Charlie cat. 5 star.

Wouldn’t use this vets ever again, I’ve been a customer over 20 years last Monday (27/06/22) I had to have my very much loved Jack Russell put to sleep. I arranged for my dog to be collected and cremated she was to be picked up on 30/06/22 and brought back to the vets on the 04/07/22 her 12th birthday, I rang the vets to arrange a time for me to collect her to be told she hadn’t even been picked up because I didn’t inform the surgery to release her. I paid for a service wasn’t told from the vets I had to do this. So on 04/07/22 I had to collect my deceased dog that they had for 7 days and take her to Leyland in Preston to have her cremated they passed me my Milly in a see through red carrier bag with her head exposed which was very upsetting & destressing for us has a family. Also the receptionist who is very rude showing no empathy at all towards us. Absolutely heartbreaking. PLEASE DON’T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOUR FUR BABY

We've taken our animals to Jackson & Nutall's for decades but that will now come to an end. They refused outright to see a puppy who was on a brink of death as an emergency, even when we had multiple other animals registered with them already. All because they are "not taking on new clients" just find this bizarre, there's not taking on new clients, and there's just out right refusing to treat a dying puppy for an already long standing customer. Armac sorted him out eventually and were brilliant. I will be taking all my animals to different vets, advising everyone I know against Jackson & Nutall, and obviously never be using them again. They don't really care about animals anymore. Shame on you.

I’ve took all my pets to this vets for the last 20 plus years. During the past 2 years I have found it very difficult to get an appointment for my animals. Every time I have rang them I am told continuously they are short staffed etc and can I ring another day or even try and get treatment from a different vets. I’ve tried to complain to a manager and was told by Caroline the receptionist that no one is in to complain to and to ring back next week or send an email then she hung up. Seems Jackson and nuttall have really gone down hill since Alex and Cathy retired and now basically they don’t care. Avoid this vets at all costs and take your pets elsewhere. I’m going to cancel my pet plan with them too.

Don't bother searching for a veterinary service when these guys really do give you all of the 5 reasons to like about this veterinary practice, In general the most common complaint/moan is the vets fee's and cost of medication,, A pet is for life just like a child is whom you can never put a price on,, Vets are not a charity although they will try to help as best they can in financial circumstances,, Their a Business!! with every day Bill's to pay just like all pet lovers do!!

I have been bringing all my pets to J&N for the past 30 + years as have all my family and most of my friends. I can not recommend J&N highly enough, they are outstanding on every level!!!! Unfortunately one of my cats was shot, it was very touch and go but thanks to the quick action & expertise of both J&N and the emergency vets in Bury Pepper made a brilliant recovery, J&N not only helped Pepper but they were amazingly supportive & understanding with me and my family during what was a very difficult time.
