This was our 2nd visit to this hotel. Its location is right next door to York Minster in all its glory. I went inside for a few minutes today short prays & light candles ( this is free )as is attending mass. Strictly no photo,s allowed but if you pay for the " tour package "photo are allowed. Ghostly walks every night go from here every night and are extremely popular. York is a stunning vibrant city full of history & the Xmas markets are so very popular. It was so busy it made it impossible to get inside a pub or cafe. Ques where unavoidable and outside street cafeand footstall had no seating so we had to constantly stand. The Shambles Market again was rammed everywhere with so many people it did quite spoil the whole experience of the Xmas Market Stalls were 6_7_8 deep and you couldn't make your way to the front. Was walked round in circles most times so definitely worth getting a street map guidance map. Free ( from visitors first aid stall ) . We went on our 2nd day early 10am & got in the shops , chocolate factory great experience. The Viking Centre is a MUST PRE BOOKING ESSENTIAL!!!....Visited there several times. I would return again to York but try the Xmas Markets else where. Friends went to Poland for the Xmas Market & paid on par as us for York so maybe next year il try Gdanzk instead..

I recently stayed for a night and it was absolutely fantastic! The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make our experience special, even finding my wife's earring that had dropped. Our room was perfect, and the breakfast was top-notch. I've been to a few places in York, but I can confidently say this will be our go-to from now on. Huge thanks to everyone there for making our visit so memorable!

Great staff, everyone was friendly and helpful. Easy valet service for offsite parking. Full English breakfast hot and tasty. Room was comfortable, water hot and powerful enough, we had a great view of the Minster, donβt book a room on that side of the hote if you need it to be quiet to be able to sleep. Busy street outside and single glazed windows meant it was noisy. Would stay here again!

A hotel of two halves. The staff were almost all really lovely and made us very welcome. A great asset. A little smarter dress code, especially for the male staff, would be more in keeping with the luxury image of the hotel though. See sections below for detailed comments on room, food, local attractions etc. Location was perfect for the attractions we wanted to visit, and we very much appreciated the left luggage facility.

This is a fantastic hotel in arguably one of the best possible locations in York! It is right outside the front of the Cathedral, situated right in the city centre - however it wasnβt busy at all outside the hotel, meaning all og the best bits about being in the centre of a city without the noisy part! Woohoo! The hotel itself is very cosy, and the staff are very friendly. They kept our bags while we waited for the room, and they drive your car around the back to park it while you stay. They are dog friendly! My pooch loved the room, apologies to anybody below us since he had many zoomies when we got there. When we arrived in the room, they had even got me some gluten free shortbread biscuits as well as regular biccies since Iβd let them know beforehand I needed to eat gluten free. This was a very thoughtful little touch so thank you! We had breakfast there and my family enjoyed the full English breakfast and the pastries they had, it would be good if they had more options for gluten free as there was cornflakes and you could request gf toast. They could also do eggs however personally Iβm not an egg fan - entirely personal preference however it meant I was only limited to two things for breakfast, but I appreciate that there were options for gluten free as not every hotel does that. Overall we had a lovely stay and I will definetely be choosing this hotel again when we return to York. Thank you for a nice stay! :)

I had such a wonderful stay at the Dean Court hotel in York. I stayed in a single room for two nights and loved every minute of it. The proximity is second to none. Walking out of the door and being in the heart of the historic city was something very special indeed. And yet, even though you are right in the centre of the action, my room was a quiet and peaceful haven. I popped back to the room several times a day and it was so convenient. The bed was incredibly comfortable, I could have stayed in it for the entire trip. The staff were so polite and welcoming, it was always nice to be greeted when you got back. I can highly recommend the breakfast as well. Get there early and get a window seat - the best view in York. Needless to say, I rate this hotel very highly and will certainly be back soon. Special thanks to Steve, the general manager for your hospitality.

Great city centre hotel. Right next to York Minster. We had a lovely view of it on the main road, yet the room was quiet. The service, cleanliness was spot on. But above all this, the food was superb, both breakfast and dinner. Will be booking and looking forward to staying here again. Valet parking was a great bonus too.

Fantastic location a few yards from York Minster. Easy access to all the bars, restaurants and shops. Great view of the Minster from our room and again at breakfast. Very large rooms with an excellent bathroom. Tea and Coffee is provided in the rooms and for once was very good unlike other places we have stayed in.Staff were friendly and helpful.Breakfast is well worth having so make sure to have this option when booking. It is an old style hotel so don't expect high tech or a gym. Just use it as an excellent place for a break.

We didn't stay at the hotel but went for lunch. We received a good friendly welcome and service by Ben & Lewis when we went there to eat. The location is fantastic right next to York Minster with an excellent view. Food good although my main course salad could have been a little more generous for the price. Thanks all involved though!

Front of house were excellent (Frank). The breakfast was very nice being a warm option along side a fair of cereal and pastries. It is a gem of a hotel , being in the centre of the city. The bonus was not advertised in that they accept the BlueLightCard giving 20% off food and drinks. The room was comfortable and spacious having everything that we needed. We will defiantly stay again as it is in such a good location with secure parking.
