   Don't EVER visit this practice. I took my dog there as Heaton Moor couldn't fit me in as quick as that's where I normally go. The vet Gary was aloof and condescending and basically looked down his nose at me. Told me basically nothing about my dogs condition (ear infection) but prescribed apoquel tablets x 30. Charged me £72 for 30 AND charged me £14 to dispense them PLUS £62 just to walk in the door. Then a friend of mine told me those tablets are £1 each on medicanimal ONLINE!! So he charged me DOUBLE without offering me just a prescription and the option to buy online! I have two dogs which I had to take with me so while I was there I asked about my other dog who was in the room, who keeps retching and being sick but he basically didn't want to answer a simple question I think because I hadn't paid consultation fee of £62 twice before he'd even think about answering??? Then probably charge me double PLUS dispensing fee for any medicine he'd recommend PLUS the £62 consultation fee!! Don't EVER take your pets there!! It is a blatant rip off and the service is shocking!!! My insurance asked me to ask the vet to just add a few notes stating allergies were the cause of my dogs infection so they could pay out as it wasn't an existing condition but this guy refused to add any notes therefore I'd paid £500 fully insured, just before Xmas and just after the worst budget in history but insurance REFUSED to pay out simply because this disgrace of a man refused to say it was due to allergies even though THATS EXACTLY what he told me in the room while he was taking my £500!!! Don't EVER go to this rip off practise. Go to animal trust. They don't charge consultation fees and they will give you a prescription so you can buy medicine online yourself and not get charged DOUBLE.

   We had to take our dog here in an emergency and he sadly had to be put down. The situation was horrible, but the service and care we received from Woodcroft Vets was impeccable. We called ahead and the receptionist was calm and gave us clear instructions. When we arrived there was a whole team waiting for us and they rushed us straight in to the emergency room. My wife and I were then shown into an empty treatment room so we could have privacy. Once the initial assessment had been done the vet came through and spoke to us really clearly and compassionately about the situation, and gave us all of the options available, but also was realistic and completely honest with us. We were kept fully informed throughout, and were given the time and space we needed to make the really hard decision to put our dog down. When this was decided they gave us time with him to say goodbye (he was intubated and under general anaesthetic at this point) and then allowed us to stay while he was put down and offered us further time to spend with him afterwards. They then took paw prints for us so that we had something to take home, and put them in a sympathy card with a hand written message. We couldn’t have asked for more from all the staff during this incredibly stressful and sad experience. Thank you

   First time I took my kitten there the vet went to give her vaccine but couldn't do it properly and had to do it a second time as the kitten recoiled. Second time I had my family take my kitten for her second vaccine and nail trimming except this time not only was the INCORRECT vaccine given but her nails were not trimmed properly with some not being trimmed at all. I'll be escalating this due to the wrong vaccine, an abysmal amount of effort when working with my kitten and the potential damages caused. Front desk are nice and people who answer the phone but the nurse who worked with my kitten needs to lose her job or at the very minimum be drug tested.

   Although we visited the Woodcroft Veterinary Group for sad circumstances, I just wanted to take the time on behalf of my family to personally thank Charlie at the Cheadle practice for how he handled us with our beloved dog who was very sick. The outcome of our visit was very unfortunate, and it’s been a tough week, but it makes it that little bit easier knowing we were treated with such kindness and compassion. Thank you Charlie and all at Woodcroft Cheadle.
