Have been renovating my house and wanted some 9inch skirting to retain character, was so pleased MDL had this in and the guys helping where great. Cut to the lengths I needed (not many places cut nowadays), and helped carry it to my car. The added bonus was the price - couldn't beat it... Will definitely be my first stop for timber now
Firstly the pricing of the materials is very good, I couldn’t find skirting or MDF shaker packs cheaper anywhere, which is why I gave it 2 stars and not 1 - as the customer service is probably one of the worst I have ever come across. I had checked if products were in stock via WhatsApp (as they also showed in stock online) to be told all products would be in store and I wouldn’t need to pre order. I arrived and stood at the desk to be grunted at by the guy behind the desk who looked at me like I was dirt, and proceeded to treat me as such. He told me one of the products wasn’t in and shouldn’t even be on the website (even though it said in stock on the website still) and then basically said they didn’t even have a variation, to which I walked 5 steps away from him and picked up a variation to the exact product I was after. Then I asked about sheet cutting and he said they couldn’t do this as they were short staffed, which surprised me as the staff were all stood around doing nothing, or moving so slow that it was understandable they couldn’t actually do work I was going to pay for. Overall a shockingly bad experience and maybe they would end up selling more and have more profit and more repeat customers if they actually decided to learn anything about customer service.
Quality of the timber is okay and the prices are good, but the staff need a serious attitude refresh. Rude and arrogant.
Great company to deal with, excellent selection & stock, very competitive prices. Delivered all materials on time, dealt with Greg, easy ordering, no fuss, very helpful. Will definitely use MDL in future & will recommend to friends & family requiring building materials.

Bought 8 0.9m sleepers and they were great. Later on I came back for 8 more. Jack was very helpful and professional. Highly recommend this place!
Bought 2 sheets of Marine Ply. Both required cutting. Cuts were perfect on both and ALL the staff I met we're brilliant. And they can't be beaten on price. I thoroughly recommend and will be using them again. Thanks.
Just love these guys. Find them so helpful and informative and friendly. Decent prices too. Even help me get it in the car and also cut it if needed. Used them loads and will continue to use them .
Terrible customer service, I selected in store some material to get delivered and they miscalculated the overall length. When I pointed this out, they started treating me in a very rude way, eventually they checked again and finally realized that 4 meters of material were missing! Once I got the goods delivered at home, I measured the material myself before doing the job and realized they still managed to charge me for an extra 1m of wood to my bill! It won't take a lot to be kind with customers, we are not just money machines, we would like to have a better treatment from our local store.
