Got a bathroom through Wickes. Was quite expensive but thought we're paying a premium for customer experience. However was an absolute disaster from day one. Fitter cancelled the job due to sickness which is unfortunate but happens. Unfortunately no-one from Wickes decided to tell me which left me waiting all day calling him and Wickes with no reply. Wickes then tried to say that it was the fitter's fault for cancelling at late notice but didn't realise that the fitter's company had subsequently cc'd me in an email they had sent a week previously asking Wickes to inform all his customers that he wouldn't be able to uphold their installations. Installation got rebooked for a weekend as I wasn't willing to give up any more leave for the project. I try and confirm the date the week before but don't get an answer until the Friday "it says Monday on our system but if you've been told Sunday then it'll be Sunday, the system just doesn't let us schedule for weekends". Sure enough Sunday rolls round and no-one turns up. Monday comes round and my partner and I can't be present as we're both at work. We leave a key for the installers who turn up and say Wickes haven't sent them any information as to what they're supposed to do so I have to excuse myself from a meeting and explain it all to them through a Ring doorbell. Finally they get round to installing the shower and it turns out Wickes have delivered the wrong shower and now my bathroom floods every time I have a shower. Wickes don't see the issue apparently so I'm having to refer them to the ombudsman Don't touch them with a 10-foot barge pole. The fitters I used say this is a consistent problem with Wickes that they don't get with other companies such as B&Q. Just take your business elsewhere

5* for John at Wickes Birkenhead, a manager who actually cares about customers. A rare thing these days. To cut a long story short, an item was missing from our delivery meaning our job couldnt start. We had spent a fortune hiring equipment, booked time off work as we are doing it ourselves, so it was a disaster when the order arrived incomplete. After all, you do pick a delivery date for a reason. I called the branch to complain, and spoke to John who listened to me sounding off in full spoilt cow mode, as you do. He went above and beyond to arrange to supply the stuff we needed and our job could start on time. He explained everything perfectly. He even contacted me on his day off to keep me informed. It would have been very easy for him to leave me to wait until the Monday but he didn't. Thank you for the great service!
