Truly incompetent vets. NHS style of do the bare minimum, let the problem deteriorate, then treat the flare and not the cause. I have brought my dog here since he was a puppy, the vets never truly gave me advice for how to manage his chronic issues beyond prescribing steroids and antibiotics when I needed them. As a result his condition has deteriorated under their care in a way that could have been avoided. I would do my own endless research on how to treat it myself at home, and I would bring up my findings to the vet and they would simply say “no don’t do that” and not give me any alternative, just give him steroids and antibiotics now he’s past the point of no return. No advice on how to prevent it happening. Just found out that my dog has low grade infection this whole time for symptoms the vets also dismissed as “normal” and told me not to worry about. Would never come back here or recommend it to anyone. Very bare minimum standard of care. Worse than the NHS except you’re paying 100s of pounds every time you come. Once time they charged me a fortune for paracetamol and I didn’t realise till I got home. Genuinely hate this place and what they have done to my dog.

Amazing Vets, we had an emergency with my springer spaniel dog and after two other vet practices wouldn't even fit us in to be seen Medivets seen us immediately, they were very empathic, caring and even though it was a sad time for my boy to run over the rainbow bridge everything was done with so much dignity and care. Couldn't have asked for any better service.

I brought my cat in earlier this year as noticed she was walking with a strange gait and drinking more water. Very quickly into the initial consultation the vet suspected diabetes, which came as a major surprise to me as all through her life my cat has had a relatively consistent and suitable diet. After initial blood & urine tests, diabetes was confirmed. This was an immensely stressful tome for me and Marilyn as her treatment plan required daily insulin injections and a prescribed diet. Learning the ropes with the medication and the required equipment, the knowledge required to treat a pet with this condition was overwhelming and this practice collectively helped me with that process from the start. Unfortunately, Marilyn very quickly went from tolerating her new treatment plan, to despising it, to the point where she would hide herself in the house to avoid injections, she was miserable and fretful, a combination due to both her illness, and the enormous change to her lifestyle especially surrounding my trustworthiness (I had become the mean woman with the needle!) Eventually it became unbearable for us both and I was in tears at home wanting to do what was right for my animal but without her being depressed and afraid. I said the same to the vets who suggested an alternate treatment that was quite new, high risk and not guaranteed to be effective for Marilyn. At this point i’d have tried anything so we did. Fast forward today, I have a very content cat who has returned to herself and managed to reverse the nerve damage to her legs. She’s purring most days and we’re back to being best friends. I was wholly not equipped to deal with her illness and it was a tough road travelled, but Tyldesley Vets have been absolutely fantastic in helping me from the very beginning. Never underestimate the stress of a poorly pet, and to find a vet who do that little bit more to help has been the silver lining needed! Thanks to everyone there - girls on the front desk are also amazing!

I happily put the medical care of my pets here at medivet. I have used mainly the Standish practice but recently my dog required major orthopaedic surgery so had to go to the Tyldsley branch. All staff are very friendly. The vets are knowledgeable, pet oriented and always take the time to explain the problem in understandable terms. The added bonus of an in house orthopaedic veterinarian who works at both branches meant that my dog was treated by a familiar face which reduced her anxiety.

I've used this practice for almost 4 years and wouldn't go anywhere else. Medivet has provided my pet with the best treatment during this time. When we've needed help in emergency situations we've always been seen immediately they truly care and are always very welcoming.

I am really happy with the service from this practice. They are very busy and do run behind most of the time, but the care they give your pet is worth any inconvenience.

I’m so happy that we chose this veterinary centre for our two kittens; everyone there is so friendly and supportive! An absolutely amazing team. Would definitely recommend! :)

Really quick service. Got an appointment for the very next morning after calling them in the evening. The lady vet I had (I’m afraid I can’t remember her name) was lovely and figured out what was wrong with my cat straight away. Treated him and gave me the adequate aftercare needed. It was a very easy process. Will continue to take my cats there.
