Had a voucher for a champagne afternoon tea experience here. It was a lovely afternoon. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The selection of sandwiches was good and plentiful with 2 scones each and several cakes supplied. Couldn't manage it all, we had to have half of it packed to go. The champagne, tea and coffee all great quality. A beautiful dining room with views out the front of the hotel grounds, we were here in December. Beautifully decorated and festive. Spent at least a couple of hours enjoying our experience and never felt rushed. Would highly recommend.

We had our wedding here on 22.11.2025 and the whole day was just stunning! Abbey was our wedding coordinator and we had a few meetings with her before hand and she was awesome. Barry was our master of ceremonies and he made sure our day ran smoothly (we were both panicking because it was our first marriage and neither of us knew what to expect). He is such a lovely man and so very helpful, im so glad we got him! The service all day was outstanding! The only thing I'd say to improve on is the fact there is no baby changing table in the mens toilets only in the women's and obviously with a big dress on you have to rely on the man to do those duties. My sister has a young child too and her partner got there before we arrived and needed to change the little dude but had no where to do it. The bridal suite is lovely! And breakfast was nice and served fast. Im so glad we chose this venue for our wedding. The grounds are beautiful and everything just ran so smoothly!

Great service. Food better quality than expected, and generous Yorkshire portions. Most communal areas are in reasonable condition, some parts of Suite 4 could do with redesign and lick of paint to show off the well sized room to maximum advantage. The hotel gardens are ideal for dog walking, but details of the folly were an added interest. This hotel is well placed for us, and given the very reasonable cost, we have booked a repeat stay for same time next year.

Spent 2 nights here and would recommend without hesitation. We booked a special offer which included two glasses of prosecco, a suite and breakfast. Our room was spacious, warm with a lovely view. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We had a lovely romantic two night break and will definitely be back!

I was pleasantly surprised by my stay here. The staff are so friendly and helpful that I felt very much at home. The grounds and views are fantastic and I enjoyed a beautiful walk from the doors of the hotel. It is perfectly situated for access to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. I was impressed by the quality, value and portions of the food which can sometimes be a bit hit and miss. A small menu meant everything was homemade. The breakfasts were particularly good. Maybe the soup was a little less flavoursome but the Cod and Pesto pasta were top notch.

My husband and I had our wedding here in July and we were absolutely over the moon with everything. From booking to planning to the day, everything went smoothly and exactly as we wanted. They definitely know how to make the experience as stress-free as possible! We unfortunately had to make some last minute changes to guests and seating plans the afternoon before the wedding which were all accommodated graciously. Thanks to all at Bagden and special thanks to Kurtis for making sure everything went well on the day.

Perfect dog friendly hotel. The staff at Bagden could not be more welcoming and looked after us and our dog faultlessly. The quality of the dinner and breakfast was outstanding, making it great value for money for us. Our room was very clean, comfortable and homely. The dog had a lovely time and all the staff made a fuss of him. There were water bowls at the dog friendly tables and poo bins around the dog walk, which are extensive. Recommend the lakeside annex rooms if travelling with a dog. It’s easy access from your car and to give the dog a leg stretch.
