   I am honestly still reeling from the experience I have just had at Rush Epsom from a very racist hairdresser named Rachel. Rachel had an attitude from the minute she saw me and when I mentioned that I would like a bouncy blow dry her face dropped and she began to make remarks about the length of my hair and the weight of it and that she could give it a go. She was extremely negative, short and disinterested. I appreciate it’s a Sunday nobody wants to be at work but her behaviour was just inexcusable. Whilst blow drying my hair I asked if she could use rollers or brushes, Rachel seemed appalled at my request, despite it being her job, and said she didn’t have any. I asked if we could maybe tong it instead and she replied very flippantly that it was up to me and if I choose to tong the hair she will just blow dry it roughly which defeats the purpose for volume. At this point I decided I couldn’t sit through another what probably would have been 15 minutes as she was putting minimal effort into my hair, and asked why she was making me feel as though it was my fault for my hair type. She quite literally slammed the hairdryer down muttered something that I didn’t catch and walked off. I very embarrassingly burst into tears as I have never experienced anything quite like that. Another lovely lady Sophie M took over and was absolutely brilliant, put rollers in my hair, and tonged it for me and was just incredible! Rachel began to work on the Caucasian lady next to me and was in high spirits and making conversation and yet uttered not a single word to me other than when she complained about my hair numerous times, I can’t come to any conclusion other than the fact that she must be racist. If I treated my patients the way she treated me there would be repercussions and it seems as though this woman might continue to make other WOC feel as she has made me feel today. It’s just wrong.

   What fantastic experience at Rush this week! I have never spent money on 'cut and colour' (I'm a tied back pony tail person!) but decided it was time to invest in a 'proper' colour/style consultation and it was so worth it. I was given an apt with Baek and I could not recommend him more highly. He translated my ramblings (!) and random photos into a new style and colour that I love. All of this was carried out with such care and attention and precision. Plus he gave me clear guidance on how to manage and maintain it. Thank you Baek...I'll be back!

My hair was a mess, but I was made to feel relaxed and in very good hands. I am so happy with the colour and cut and I will be a returning customer from now on and recommending to everyone!    Fantastic first visit to Rush yesterday. My hair isn’t in the greatest condition and after a long consultation, I received some great advice on how to cover my grey and get my hair back to a Healthy condition. Megan was absolutely fantastic, she listened to what I wanted to achieve and managed to blend a colour to match my existing growth. My hair feels amazing and I couldn’t be more happy with the end result. Thanks Megan, I shall be back for my 2nd visit before Christmas.

   Always a great experience with Irfan! Such a good hairdresser with a really friendly personality. He will listen and look at any styles / colour you want to achieve and help you recreate it in a way that suits you. He always creates a great result, wouldn’t trust anyone else with my hair! 10/10
