Could not fault the service we have received from this vets. From the second you step in the door they are attentive and friendly, would 100% recommend this vets to anyone!

If I could give zero stars or minus I would. This is the most incompetent set of Vets I have ever encountered in my 65 years of owning pets. I should have followed my gut instinct the first visit when a veterinary surgeon took 5 yes FIVE attempts to get blood out of my dogs chest. Promising to ring with blood results, Never Did I constantly had to ring over & over. Extortionate charges & complete lack of interest in my precious 14 year old dog. The surgery is a dump, scruffy with wood panels around the desk falling off & is crying out for at least a lick of paint The nursing staff are brilliant & so are the girls on appointment desk but the VETS are a completely different story. So please be warned & to add insult to injury They are also the most expensive. View how many others have given them ONE STAR .

Actually deserves Zero stars!!! This was my first visit to the practise and the staff were helpful and the vet seemed great with my dog. However, I must say that I am utterly shocked at the amount they have charged. I cannot understand how they can charge over £50 for a consultation when generally a consultation is between £20 - £30? We brought a sample of urine in which the vet tested, however we have been charged £55 for this? My other dog had 2 urine samples done with a different vets in October last year and each were £16? I had to ask for an invoice which mentioned SG and Microscopy but the vet made no mention of this to us? Finally I am at a loss as to how they can charge £122 for 28 Antibiotics that online are a third of the price? Given that my dog has been diagnosed with a minor urine bacterial infection, I cannot understand why she would need 2 weeks of these tablets given that my 13 year old husky (who was at end of life and very frail) was prescribed only 7 tablets that cleared up his urine infection which was much worse. Having read other reviews online, there seems to be a consensus that this practice is charging way over the average and adding unnecessary charges on a regular basis. I sent an email regarding this and have had no response at all. Extremely poor service at a cost of over £320 for flea and worm tablets and a minor water infection.

I would give 0 stars if I could. They told me my appointment was 16:45pm I travelled half an hour in rush hour traffic for them to tell me I was booked in for 15:45 and now they can’t see us for another few days meanwhile my dog is suffering. If you read the other reviews there are more that have experienced the same issue. The fact they made a mistake and still couldn’t take 5 minutes to see a suffering dog is discusting, call yourselves a vet. 45 minute drive back now. Avoid.

Thank you to the team for looking after our family dog George over the years. Unfortunately, he is no longer with us. The staff are caring, compassionate and professional. They made a very sad situation manageable. Can’t ask for more.

I am very disappointed in the level of care my mums dog has received and that I have received from here. My mum is 86 and has dementia she has a 12 year old dog who had an appointment at the practice today. I only get Tuesday and Wednesday off so her friend made a special visit to take him. She arrived at 10.25 for what I thought was a 10.30 appointment. Apparently I got the time wrong and it should have been at 10.15 but they refused to see him. He has lumps on his body and hates being picked up so it was an effort to get there. The appointment was for flee treatment and a check up. They didn't even offer to just do the free treatment. I am appalled by this. Apparently they were behind on appointments anyway so assume he would have been seen later. I phoned to complain and was told the receptionist would get back to me with a time to collect the flee treatment when she had spoken to the vet. Nobody called me. I will have to try to chase this up again tomorrow from work. In the meantime the poor dog is scratching which is so unfair.

To be honest I blame myself for sticking with this vet so long after all they seem to ever want to do is push pills and extort you. The final straw was a procedure my dog recently had to test a lump on her paw to see if it was a harmless growth or something more sinister. I was offered a blood test which was £174 and was told I would have the results within the week. When the results came back I was told the test had failed as there was ‘too much blood in the blood’. I was offered the opportunity to have the lump tested again but I would have to pay for the test AGAIN. So if it fails 10 times it would cost me almost £2000? I have complained and asked for a refund to which they told a mistruth that I had been warned there was a chance the procedure would fail. As good as my witness I was NEVER warned it could fail and I wouldn’t be able to have a re-test! If I had I wouldn’t be complaining and leaving this review. I know what’s right and I know that them lying isn’t right so here we are. I went to my new vet who were honest and told me the limo was probably harmless and it would drop off within a few weeks. It did. Notice how they didn’t try to extort me? Also past problems I’ve had at holly house due to them closing in the first lockdown they advised I should have my dogs 2nd DHP vaccine done 3 times. It was supposed to be done a month after the first but due to them shutting they said the jab must start again as it would have been a week late which made all the difference apparently. The 3rd attempt to inject her almost killed her and I had to rush her to emergency hospital 10 minutes later. Due to this experience I will NEVER have my dog injected with anything again. She suffered terribly. They never took the blame and said she was probably effected by a puppy chew I gave her Another issues they prescribed prednisone for minor allergies and said she was unlikely to suffer any side effects. She almost panted herself to death and I tapered her straight off them. This surgery is concerned more about money and drug dealing than they are about your pets welfare. Avoid. Like I say I’m an idiot for sticking with them so long so more fool me. I now go to pike moor vets in westhoughton and no issues so far and no attempts to extort me which is easily done when you love your pet and will pay anything to see them well The fact that they have lied and said I was warned the blood test I mentioned could fail and I would have to pay again is the primary reason for this review. I’ve been charged £30 from them before for a thimble full of antibacterial shampoo which the full bottle would have cost less and have paid for x40 the price for paracetamol. More fool me but I love my dog and am easily taken advantage off when she’s not well

Jess on reception and Charlotte the vet were absolutely brilliant. We also spoke to a vet nurse as part of our visit who was equally very helpful. We were 300 miles from home and had an emergency with our pet. We were extremely impressed with everything about Holly House Vet practice. We felt our dog Barney was looked after with great care and detail. Thank you so much for being so thorough and reassuring about the tests and treatment you gave Barney. Everything was explained very clearly to us. We really appreciated it. Thank you. The Poston Family, Eastbourne
