   Go in looking a mess. Come out feeling like a queen. What's not to love. I have been a customer since it opened, and to me Marva is truly the 4th emergency service. I had to have surgery where they shaved a big chunk of my hair off at the back. I had to wait until the area was healed before i could go back to Marva, and all I said was I just need a hairdo that would hide the area that was shaved (it was about 1/3 inch long by then). I felt like a million dollars when I left and could not stop swishing my short bobbed hair around. She truly is a genius.

   I've been having my hair done at Anonymous since July 2003, so nearly 20 yrs. Mav is amazing at what she does and I would never entrust another hairdresser with my hair. I've had various styles over the years and never once have I been disappointed. Highly recommend.

   Mav has been my hairstylist for 40 years, she is truly an amazing artists. Who not only does my hair but my whole extended family from the men to the childern too. From Back, Mixed race to Caucasian if you are fed up of bad hair cuts on your curly hair, need that pop of color or just some good advice you can't go wrong.

   Appalling attitude and customer service from the lead stylist - so disappointed - it's a service I wouldn't repeat! Brought my 10 year old daughter to have a big chop of her natural hair (lower back length to shoulder bob) done to make it more manageable in preparation for high school, and what should have been a great experience for her became sour - marred by the lead stylist who overlooked her client - making it all about herself with her appalling comments, bad attitude and lack of professionalism. Cannot fathom why this stylist, who made inappropriate remarks re my mixed race daughter and I, felt it was ok for her to speak the way she did insisting on why our hair needed grease in a derogatory way, such as: ''her hair is like yours, not her dads'', ''all it [her hair] needs, is good old fashioned grease'' and ''she's not white!''. Also, she felt the need to add ''when you get to high school the black girls are going to want to play with her hair. You know how they've always got their hands in each others hair - they're going to want to take it out an style it...'' Yes - I kid you not and this was after a 2.5 hour wait with no apology. Considering this stylist is familiar with my family and her salon is one I'd visit often to have my hair relaxed as a teen - I expected more , but left feeling disgusted. I hadn't been for years, yet decided to by pass other salons to head here (over a 9 mile drive) to entrust my daughter's, her client, first experience to her. Somehow our custom and money became worth less than others on our visit, which reminds me of a time gone by that many of us would like to move on from. Those familiar with natural hair textures will know about type numbers and what is most appropriate for your hair type. My daugther's a mixed 3b, mine is afro 4b. We use natural oils, which so far has been right for us, as it has for many other people - olive, coconut, etc and styling creams - not copious amounts of heavy hair oils, which often leaves most hair clammy, greasy, and attracts more dust, etc - likely the reason many people use alternative products, which I explained to the stylist, who'd asked what products we use. Not so, according to the stylist! While styling my daughters hair she ordered that my daughter and I needed to ''use grease'', ''pure old hair grease'', because our hair was dry. My own natural, twisted hair was ''dry and natural afro hair doesn't and shouldn't look dry'', because she knows people who wear their hair natural and it doesn't look dry - odd considering I wasn't her client nor was I paying for her thoughts. She continued this whilst berating me ,about how I kept my hair when I used to visit (as a teen and I'm approaching 40 now) and how I've looked after my childrens' hair! I immediately pulled her up on her remarks and we were at a point of arguing when she had the opportunity to change her tone and apologise, instead she appeared aghast that I dared defy her comments and felt motivated to continue her disgusting tirade making the comments mentioned above. Not once had she given relevant advice you'd expect from stylists today about appropriate hair products for particular hair textures . So, so wrong - this at a time when people are meant to be progressive - particularly with the universal message being shared to support businesses run by black proprietors with our custom.
