Shout out to the staff at the Sheffield Walk-in-Centre …. went to meet a family member who was experiencing a difficult asthma attack on the back of a chest infection. On arrival, the place was extremely busy, no vacant seats, with people queuing at the desk! staff were clearly working hard, in difficult conditions to get people assessed and treated ASAP! Having mentioned to staff that the asthma was worsening, the response was excellent. They were seen quickly and provided excellent emergency care before being referred to the NGH…. Although someone might say they were just doing the job that they’re paid for…. these were difficult circumstances in a very busy and stressful environment. So thanks to the staff on duty this afternoon for a providing an excellent and professional service.

I attended on a Saturday mid morning, and it was pretty busy, maybe about twenty-five people waiting. I had a two hour wait but the two clinicians I saw were helpful, pleasant and highly professional. They gave me the prescription I needed. This is a good facility but it clearly needs a bit more investment in the staff and the premises. I'd like to say 'thank you' to our hardworking NHS staff.

Attended for a pre arranged appointment after phoning 111. I knew I needed some medication for my symptoms and was unable to obtain an appointment with my own G.P. Initial impressions on getting to the front door are not great, I had to step over a massive pile of vomit that looked like it had been there for quite a few hours. Staff on reception were pleasant, and I waited only half an hour from my pre arranged appointment time. I have to say the Nurse practitioner I saw, was very thorough, but extremely rude and patronising. Feeling extremely ill, the last thing you want, is to be spoken to like a child, and questioned on the validity of your responses in a mocking manner. The NP was certainly good at her job, but that is negated by her attitude with patients. I did get the medication I needed, it could have been prescribed by the Dr I spoke with on my initial phone call to 111 and saved me the trip! As I left, the massive pile of vomit was still outside the doorway, getting tracked into the waiting area on people's feet. I know this is a stretched service, and the staff work extremely hard, but I do feel there are major improvements to the service that need to be made, especially around hygiene and patient interactions. No patient should be spoken to in a condescending manner, regardless of how busy the clinic is.

My 19 year old daughter was referred here by 111 as she was very unwell - high temperature, vomiting, unable to eat for days, and had lost her voice. I accompanied her to speak on her behalf, but the consultation was extremely disappointing. Although the doctor carried out a check, his manner was brusque, dismissive, and entirely devoid of compassion or courtesy. When I explained she hadn’t eaten for days, his reply was cold and uncharitable: “I can’t do anything about that,” followed by a vague mumble about hydration. As we left, we said thank you - he didn’t look at us or respond. It is absolutely baffling that someone who has chosen a profession centred on caring for people should project only indifference, an air of arrogance, rather than genuine compassion. His whole demeanour created an unsettling atmosphere, leaving us with no trust in his judgement whatsoever. The receptionist, by contrast, was warm and professional - proof that courtesy costs nothing. A real shame, as I have always had positive experiences of Sheffield NHS before. I really do not wish for me or my children to be referred here again, particularly if it means being seen by this doctor. A quick update my instinct was right, the doctor at the walk in centre is not to be trusted at all! My daughter went to another doctor this morning and was immediately prescribed antibiotics due to a severe bacterial infection ! Disgraceful service from the doctor at the walk in clinic

Excellent service on an incredibly busy bank holiday, 111 booked me an appointment here as GPs closed over Bank Holiday period and I had an acute illness. All the staff I saw were lovely and I left with the necessary antibiotic presciption and action plan if my condition should worsen. I think this service is under a lot of pressure as a side effect of GP practices being overloaded so people are obviously going here as a last resort for ongoing conditions which this clinic is not equipped for, this understandably causes frustration between patients and staff and there are long wait times so I'd say bear that in mind as I can imagine the long wait for many would be rubbish! Thank you again to all the staff for sorting me out on such a busy day.

Absolute disgrace, I waited for 2 hours here this evening with my child screaming because she wanted to go home as she was unwell. I had to leave before getting seen because my child was so distressed, she is 3 years old, nobody cared, twice I asked reception when I was going to be seen and nothing was done. When I first went in there were only 2 other people by the time I left 2 hours later there were maybe ten to 15 people who had all arrived after me. No proper system and no care. I only went because I’ve been unable to get a GP appointment for my daughter, I was prepared to wait my turn but many people were put before me and there was no consideration for mine or my child’s well-being. What an absolute disgraceful place.

111 advised my 14 month old baby needed to be seen within the next few hours due to a high temperature that wouldn’t come down after paracetamol had been given. Upon arriving, it seemed quite busy, but people were in an out quite quickly. The triage doctor was lovely and acted quickly when realising my babies temperature had now gone gone 37.9 to 39 in the matter of 1 hour, she was given some ibuprofen and we were asked to wait in the waiting room. Not long after, the doctor called us through, who I felt was unprofessional. He didn’t properly get my babies temperature, but said it was fine, rushed through checking her breathing, ears and throat and said it was viral. No questions in regard to urine output, didn’t ask if she was eating and drinking. When I asked about the temperature not coming down even after medication, he replied that temperatures don’t matter and it’s just the body’s way of fighting the infection. She has had a consistent temperature for over 24 hours that hasn’t settled and with Strep A on the rise, this is unacceptable! Very poor service from the doctor, triage nurse was fantastic. Thankfully I am a mother of 4 and will be seeking a second opinion elsewhere.

I took my 2 year old today as she had a 39.6c temperature- the waiting room was fullish the receptionist was nice and friendly - was seen quickly afterwards by the nurse which also was nice and friendly - despite they had a 2hrs waiting time sign i was seen within half an hour due to the urgency of my baby’s condition. The Dr. Who seen her was so patient and listened to all my worries and helped us address the issue. She referred us to the children’s hospital and we got the right treatment - to this Dr. I want to say HUGE thank you for being so kind and nice and care bout your patient you saved my baby today. Thank you so much

The staff is lovely. However, there's should a technology where you could record your waiting at the time that you could go out for doing something because I've been told if I left the building then I'll be off the queue & the waiting time is about 2:30 hours.. with the kids or without is not nice to wait on the chair for such time.
