The road and car park for the zoo is narrow and quite small. The zoo felt a little underfunded with enclosures feeling somewhat unloved and quite small. After walking around the zoo we headed to the cafe, I was told we couldn't have chips because it costs too much electricity to have the fryer on and running - a little surprised! I totally get that visitor numbers are less during winter months but having a good cafe with hot food and drinks available-especially in cold weather, is a must. We watched the otter feeding which was interesting, staff are very friendly. But some animals were pacing in their small enclosures. We then visited Tropiquaria a week later, which was a totally different experience and we bought a season pass.

We visited in the midst of xmas holiday (29th). Exmoor Zoo is a web of animals with great exhibits. With different paths around. A good cafe with real food on sale. The carnivors may have smaller exhibits, well withen the requirements set out, but look content with their enclosures in the main. It is clear they are cared for. We booked accomadation the night before as a 5 hour drive otherwise. Well worth it. I would happily go again

Visited Exmoor Zoo today, even though it rained on and off, a great place to visit. Amazing amount of animals to see, with plenty of room in their enclosures. Well worth a visit, at a reasonable price. Cafe ok, but could do with more of a selection of warm food and cakes(A Chef/Cook would be nice) Overall experience was very good. Nice little gift shop too.

We had a brilliant day out at Exmoor Zoo and would highly recommend it to families and visitors of all ages. The range of animals is fantastic, and we were able to see them all during our visit. They all appeared well cared for and happy in their enclosures, which was lovely to see. The zoo is also very inclusive, with excellent accessibility features, including widgets with images to help those with SEND communicate and engage more easily with the experience. This thoughtful touch made the visit even more enjoyable and welcoming. The staff were incredibly friendly, approachable, and always happy to help with any questions. Another highlight was the short nature walk, which takes only around 15 minutes but is very peaceful and definitely worth doing. Itβs a great way to enjoy the surroundings beyond the animal enclosures. Overall, Exmoor Zoo offered us a wonderful day out full of memorable experiences, we would definitely return!

Visited with my two children who are 7 and 11 while on holiday in Woolacombe. We enjoyed our visit and had a good time. There are lots of animals especially cats. The highlight was the 'exmoor beast' a black leopard who jumped at the glass and thrilled the kids. The cages vary in size and I thought some were a bit small for the animals while others had more room. It is quite a compact zoo and a bit of a maze. There were some interesting informative talks and the zoo keeper were engaging and interesting. There is only a single block of toilets near the entrance and none in the rest of the zoo, so can be a bit of a pain with small kids. There is a reasonable prices cafe with a few lunch items but not high cuisine. All in all well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Delightful experience! Didnβt expect much from a random trip on a Friday in October but it was one of the best zoo trips Iβve ever been on. All the staff were friendly and helpful (shout out to Steven for his fun interactive talks!!). They had a diverse selection of animals and despite the quiet season it was really engaging.

Took my daughter to the zoo before she goes back to uni, I haven't been there for years. We had a brilliant time, so many animals too see, i love that those who are shy have fairly over grown enclosures so you might get a glimpse but they're free to hide away if they want. I think we saw all but 2 of the animals on display. They have new arrivals next year too, a snow leopard and red pandas. Lots of information about the animals, talks available and if you like you can handle some of the creepy crawlies. Not over priced and well worth a visit. I'm local and didn't realise it was so good, I will be going back once the new arrivals arrive!

This is the best day out weβve had in our holiday by a long way! We arrived for opening time at 10am joined a small queue and quickly got inside with our pre booked tickets. The staff were friendly and helpful on arrival and throughout our visit and the keeper talks were very informative. There are so many animals to see that we were there for about 6 hours to see it all. The animals were well kept, in good health and mostly easy to spot but just one or two elusive ones! The food and drink is very reasonably priced which was a pleasant surprise compared to other places we had visited with meals around the Β£5 per person mark. They also provided a small quiz which my stepdaughter filled in and got a goody bag which was a nice touch! All in all a great day out and highly recommended!

We had heard so much about this lovely zoo from our friends who live more locally to it and we were not disappointed. What a fantastic place and this is made all the better by the very friendly and knowledgeable staff. We had a 'Walk on the Wild Side' experience with Alex, which was great and a rare chance to get up close and personal with many of their rare and unusual animals. Our favorite was brushing the 2 tapirs. I'm not sure who was most relaxed, them or us? This zoo is definitely worth a visit and please support the important conservation work they are doing. Looking forward to visiting again ASAP. Thank you to the team for an unforgettable day.
