Zoo in Swansea

“We visited with my parents and my one year old daughter and we all really enjoyed it. You could hire a mobility scooter which was fantastic for my Dad who struggles to walk far (think it was £20 with refundable £30 deposit?). Also you could hire single/ double buggies if you needed. Everywhere is really accessible for wheelchairs/ buggies and there is soo much to see. You can get your ticket validated to visit again within 7 days, which we would have done had the weather not been so shocking the week we were away. Loads of animals and so many great play areas for children of all ages!! Even the cafe for lunch exceeded our expectations, thought it would be a bit basic but we all really enjoyed the food and the kids grazing platter was a great array of ‘picky bits’ for our daughter. Would really recommend!! We visited on a weekday outside of school holidays so it was relatively quiet which was great.”

“Easy to find, a very welcoming company boss, we bought a selection of their beers, gin and vodka, with some local Pembrokeshire cider too. We will be returning to see and buy more. I can't wait to try their ales! Excellent service and friendliness.”

“What a fantastic experience and highly recommended for any animal lovers! I booked this event as a surprise for my partner and got to meet two very characterful dinkey donkeys in Maverick and Goose! The walk itself was fantastic and our host Julia was extremely knowledgeable and talked us through the handling experience in great detail to make sure we felt comfortable before heading out. The mid walk picnic was a great addition and although the weather tried to put a dampener on the walk nothing could take away from the memorable experience and both my partner and enjoyed the whole experience. Thanks again to Julia for hosting such a fantastic experience and for Maverick for bravely manoeuvring through the walk.”

“What an amazing place and the food is proper chef prepaired not microwave ding like a lot of places. The depth of flavour and qaulity of the food was amazing, the staff are all very friendly and the waitress even helped us find some tradesmen ad we are new to the area. Service was amazing she was so chatty and welcoming and had a great knowledge of the dishes on the menu,will definately be back, no wonder they stack up the awards. The zoo at the rear is also a nice touch”

“Margam Park is truly a gem. The grounds are breathtaking, with sweeping lawns, peaceful woodlands, and landscaped gardens that feel like something out of a fairytale. The historic castle stands proudly at the heart of the estate, its striking architecture making it a stunning focal point for any visit. The Orangery is absolutely beautiful—filled with natural light and surrounded by incredible views, it has a timeless charm that makes it feel so special. We love it so much that we’ll be getting married there in 2027, and we can’t imagine a more perfect setting.”

“Had a fab 1st visit this morning, my granddaughter of 19 months loved it she got to hold the animals and brush them, she also enjoyed watching the other children holding the animals. All the children took turns to stoke and feed them The owner was very welcoming and obviously loves the animals, will definitely be returning”

“We had a brilliant day out at Exmoor Zoo and would highly recommend it to families and visitors of all ages. The range of animals is fantastic, and we were able to see them all during our visit. They all appeared well cared for and happy in their enclosures, which was lovely to see. The zoo is also very inclusive, with excellent accessibility features, including widgets with images to help those with SEND communicate and engage more easily with the experience. This thoughtful touch made the visit even more enjoyable and welcoming. The staff were incredibly friendly, approachable, and always happy to help with any questions. Another highlight was the short nature walk, which takes only around 15 minutes but is very peaceful and definitely worth doing. It’s a great way to enjoy the surroundings beyond the animal enclosures. Overall, Exmoor Zoo offered us a wonderful day out full of memorable experiences, we would definitely return!”

“Can't talk highly about the MWP. As a family of 4 we were super impressed with the accessibility of getting to see all the varied wildlife here, petting rabbits and feeding wallabies was something my 5 year old and 1.5 year old found to be magical. The indoor soft play area is great when everyone is tired of walking especially if it rains. The staff are very friendly and the place is informative for young children and probably in my top 3 wildlife places I've been to in the UK. My only criticism was that the food in the cafe wasn't very good quality for the price you pay and we would bring our own food if we came back again. I met the owner Anna Ryder Richardson in the cafe who was lovely.”

“Absolutely fantastic day out of anyones looking for somewhere to take the kids. And if you live local an annual pass is highly recommended! We try to go once a week if the weathers nice and it costs me less than £10 for a family of 4 with a pass.”

“Beautiful, peaceful nature reserve with extensive dunes and heathlands, wild flowers and butterflies, and then a stunning empty beach at the end of the walk. One of the hottest days of the year and we saw less than half a dozen people on the beach all day, and some of the time we were alone with miles of soft sand. Can’t wait to come back. And cheap parking a lovely bonus.”

“This was a lovely little loop around to see the marshes. We loved how easy it was on the knees and not too long.”

“A very large park. A lot to visit. Animals and birds. The park is huge, you can ride the train or ride a bicycle. The park has toilets, places where you can buy food and serve different drinks . In some places where you serve food, there are no trash cans. In the space set up for children, the toilets are very dirty, cobwebs, the diaper changing table is very dirty, it is not disinfectant, we are very disappointed considering the size of the park and the number of tourists”

“We had a lovely time here and it was a really reasonable price - we had 5 adults and 3 children with us and the entrance price totalled just £62! There are a range of animals to see aswell as the monkeys & apes. It is set out pretty well and there is a nice flow around the area so you are not backing up on yourself constantly. The areas the animals are in seemed a decent size and from what we saw, the animals are well looked after. The children especially loved the tunnel going over one walkways which we were lucky enough to see 2 little monkeys eating in there when we passed under it. There is a little shop which is also where you need to go to pay for the entrance fee, it stocked snacks, drinks and ice-cream. You can get souvenirs like teddy's etc. The other end of the shop is 'jumble sale' type items that you can buy, I didn't have a proper look but from where I was stood I could see handbags, books and lots of other various items. Parking is available but it's not the biggest area so you have to pack in quite tight. One of the adults with us is a wheelchair user and managed to go everywhere we did so access isn't an issue. There are toilets on site. It took us about an hour and a half at max to go around the whole thing going at a steady pace which is faster than I initially expected it to take but it's definitely worth a visit.”

“A great day out. I was really pleased with the great pricing. The set up outside was a big field with the animals around the edges so it was nice and open in the middle where you could sit and the kids could play. Small but between the indoor and outdoor play areas, animals and the woodland walk up to the duck pond (no ducks atm but the girls had lots of fun climbing trees and running around the wood) There were good paths, so despite it having rained tonnes in the days before it wasn't mucky. Food was your basic chicken nuggets, Sausages etc and chips. There was plenty of parking”
