“It is amazing to look at them closely.”
“We visited today, 2nd Nov, and wanted to praise the superb knowledge and engagement of some staff members. The lady feeding and tending to the gibbon forest this afternoon came and spoke to us about them, advising us about the engagement they conduct with the gibbons and the personalities and quirks of each of them. They are clearly well looked after and cared about by the staff. Secondly, the guy working in the butterfly farm engaged with us immediately upon entry into the space, he was very approachable and had knowledge not only on the butterflies and birds within his area, but about other species within the zoo and shared his experiences with us. We felt as if we were on a personal tour with the in depth discussions we had with him. He is clearly very passionate about animals and nature as a whole, and gave some great tips on how we can support the environment. He really is a credit to the Twycross team.”
“Great zoo, plenty to see and do, staff were greate too.”
“We visited Twycross Zoo’s Lanterns of the Wild with myself, my partner, and our two young children (aged 2 years and 9 months), and we had a truly wonderful time. Seeing Santa in the grotto was a real highlight — he was absolutely brilliant with the babies, making the experience feel so special. Santa’s elves were fantastic too, especially Jingle and Jangle, who put on an amazing show and kept everyone entertained. The lanterns themselves were truly phenomenal and created such a magical atmosphere throughout the zoo. A lovely, festive experience for the whole family and one we’d highly recommend.”
“Lanterns of the wild - Incredible! We had an amazing time, no loud music so it was perfect for our son that is sensitive to loud noises. Very organised, no waiting around in queues other than for food and drinks but thats to be expected. A few places to warm up. Clear route with so many photo opportunities you'll fill your camera. We will definitely be going again. Worth the money for sure.”
“One of the best areas of the zoo.”
“Beautiful Orangutans ... keep up the good work TZ”
“I really enjoyed coming to this Zoo. Everyone was really friendly and welcoming and made me feel at home. My wife and kids were very excited to see all of the animals that you guys had to offer. After spending a while walking we found a nice area for us to sit down and eat our picnic and watch people walking by and looking at animals. The ice cream van was a favourite. We hand fed the chimpanzees ( they were cheeky and took the full bag of nuts). The mating program was something to behold. Dave the sea lion mentor was also great. I would love to return again, thats why I purchased a season pass. The recourse on site were very easily accessible and good toilet options being with children. thanks very much. The hand dryers werent loud in the toilets. So my kids werent distressed. unfortunately when i got there there was no space left for the meerkat experience but im going to book that in advance next time because it was very busy. looks like it is a very popular activity. the registration tablets in the lobby had a blue light filter so it didn't bother our eyes too much Thankyou again”
“Good zoo and always looking at new areas for animals.”
“Showed them my cute fur suit and safe to say I'm one of them now *nuzzles tiger*”
“Really big, easy to use - and not had disruptive kids won the several occasions I've been. I have a 2 year old, and it's got a great toddler section, and the rest is suitable for an active toddler if you go with them.”
“My 12 year old daughter received this bird experience as a birthday gift. Her father and myself purchased two extra tickets to join her and grandparents as spectators It was a delightful morning! Andrew was very patient, kind and knowledgeable. The birds were beautiful and clearly well cared for. We all had a great time. Would highly recommend!!”
“Amazing place. It was raining while we have been there but still well spent money. Whole visit took us around 1h30m. Ticket for senior was £10,25 and for adult £13,95. Free off road parking with toilets on the car park and inside. Lots of "washing hands" places. Bag of treats, including worms, nuts, seeds and fruits cost us £6 which i think was a good and reasonable price. Staff was very polite and friendly. There was always somebody available if needed. Wasn't too busy as our visit was on Tuesday when was raining but can't complain about this. We made 182 photos and 13 videos. Great experience and great memories. The place looks like is wheelchair friendly (but please double check). There was also small playground for the kids. So in few words: yes, the place is well worth to visit.”
“A very interesting museum. One of the best and I've seen a lot in my life. I really wish I could come back and visit it again.”
“Lovely day out, loads to do and my girls had the best time. All staff are helpful and so friendly. Animals are well looked after and lovely variety of pumpkins.”

“Abbey Park is a big city park in Leicester. Facilities are good and convenient to people. I like to spend my leisure time there.”
“Really good one, lots of animals, different activities, lamb hugging on the day we visited. We had tractor rides which my tot love it, they also got tractor toy so kid can hop on and pedalling (included in ticket) They also have small motor museum of vintage automobiles (included in ticket) they are sooo COOL. But downsides are toilets sign is pretty confusing and cutlery in cafe wasn’t clean but carrot cake is soooo good!!”
“It's free and about 2 years ago was just birds now there's goats and chickens rabbits.. my son loved it and the little play area I'm the middle”
“This is a beautifully kept and managed gardens. Delightful walks along the river. Sensory garden is gorgeous. There is so much space for dogs to run around in. I loved it.”
“A wonderful day in the sunshine for an extended family gathering. Super hosts, fantastic catering and really friendly atmosphere. Even a working steam engine to boot! Superb, thank you!”
“A great resource for my friend’s reactive dogs. They love racing around the fields and we know that they are safe.”
“Absolutely wonderful stay. The rooms were bright, spacious and comfortable with a delicious breakfast. Melanie and Kevin go above and beyond - thank you so much!”
“Brilliant restaurant with plenty of different food and drinks, the shop has fair prices and a great selection for kids to pick somthing out. The park is bigger then what we thought has plenty of animals to feed, pet and see and also very well spread out. We also were pleasantly suprised at a woodland walk which ended with a kids zip line trampoline and climbing frame. The park also has a playarea with alot to do there with slides stuff to climb, swings, ect. The workers were all friendly and helpful. The toilets were very clean and for a farm high standard, the parking was decent and the activities there were brilliant we went during Halloween which had plenty of setup photo opportunities, games like bowling and hoops, crafts and colouring, a woodland trail and much more. Was fairly priced and will definitely go again our 2 year old loved it, would highly recommend whether your children are toddlers or 10 plus, great day out.”
“Every member of staff were a delight (apart from the woman in the paying booth.... They were kind and considerate and very child friendly! The rides were great as our two are ten and haven't really been on anything like that much. Excitement overload. The indoor slides and lazy river were a godsend as it was bitterly cold. There were some animals in the barn, and we enjoyed feeding them (50p for feed from a self-issue machine). Especially as the llama and goat were trying to eat the feed out of the machine! And the Shetland pony kicking the door to get more food. There were rabbits and meerkats too. The kids enjoyed picking a pumpkin too which was free with the ticket. Who knew choosing a pumpkin would bring so much delight. Thanks Twinlakes it was a blast!”
“My kids absolutely love it here! There’s loads of space to run, climb, and slide, and everything feels really safe and well looked after. The staff are fantastic, friendly, patient, and great with the children. It’s so nice having somewhere indoors that feels relaxed for both kids and parents. Highly recommend for a fun family day out!”
“We had a most enjoyable time with our granddaughters. The animals are great entertainment for the children especially when they are being fed. The facilities are very good and clean. The staff are courteous and friendly and are always tidying up inside and out. The cafe was very good the food is freshly prepared and tasty. There is a good choice for adults and especially for children. The prices are reasonable £20 for a good lunch for 2 adults and 2 children all drinks included.”
