Went for a xmas party night. Didnt stay so just put 3 for rooms? Food was very nice and service was very well run and organised for a full room. Drinks typical expensive hotel prices. Only thing would change is not having the DJ on until after the meal, couldnt chat etc... Would visit again...

We have visited hellaby hall hotel many times for various reasons and functions over the years and never been disappointed. We returned for Christmas day dinner this year after having a really enjoyable time last year. The contrast couldn't have been any more different. We were really disappointed this year. There was a mix up on arrival with our table and seating, which to be fair was sorted without too much fuss. Service at the bar was quick and efficient. Our starter course was of a good standard and we enjoyed that. We then waited over an hour for our main christmas dinner to arrive. Where do I start. No yorkshire pudding. No cranberry sauce. No mash potatoes or roast potatoes. Instead there was a cut of potato that was maybe boiled and shown the frying pan. The carrot was limp. The coin of stuffing that accompanied the turkey appeared to be of mass production and not crispy at all. There was no colour to the sausage in the pig in blanket it may as well have been boiled. The yule dessert was nice and tasty. A bit surprised that coffee and tea weren't available on the day if not ordered and paid for beforehand. In summary.......not the best christmas day we've had.

Horrific experience from start to finish- please do not book this through Spa Seekers as you will have no room, np bookings and just be placed somewhere and forgotten about. The hotel is shabby and staff are disorganised. The complaints process was even worse- I was ignored until incorrectly sent a job offer meant for someone else and then sent a complete lie about our stay! It is rare that i leave negative feedback as you will see from my google reviews but please do NOT stay here. We eventually were given a faulty room after having to proove our booking existed, so although we eventually had somewhere to stay, this room was horrendous for the price we paid. We didnt recieve any of the perks from our package and the dining situations were awful. We waited 55 minutes for a drink and starter. The spa called 2 days before to change our hot tub time (so obviously our booking did exist), then when we arrived at the later time, there was no record of the person who made this call so we were given 5pm - not ideal with a dinner reservation at 6 and unable to check in until after the spa. Of course, this didnt matter so much as no one had actually booked our dinner reservation! I must stress that we spoke with a lovely family who had their daughter's wedding there the night before who spoke of their horrendous experiences too, so we were not the only disappointed guests. Avoid.

Day 1 we planned our evening around going to the gym and leisure pool only to be kicked out an hour earlier than the published closing time at 8pm. During the night we're awoken by beating on our door at midnight and again after 1 am. I dressed and went to reception where the night staff refused to monitor or review the CCTV and offered to escort me back to my room. I was forced to try to sleep fully dressed next to the door for the rest of the night. Then in the morning... Despite booking for 9am breakfast at reception on arrival, the duty manager refused us entry to the breakfast room as that did not count and he was fully booked. His solution was to grin at us and talk down to us. He was being a supercilious grinning pratt and when I told him not to be like that he told me not to swear at him and continued talking down to me. Not his problem ... nothing he could do about it. I should realise it was the weekend and they were busy. We left without breakfast and despite reporting the night time problems to reception as well as the breakfast issue no incident was ever recorded. Not a nightmare but a broken culture that has, according to some leisure centre users and other staff resulted in the hotel going downhill recently. Good bye Best Western ... please ban me for calling your duty manager a supercilious grinng pratt, and we can mutually ensure that I never have to come back.

8/10 thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Spacious rooms with amazing huge beds! Staff were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was wonderful with lovely views out onto the garden. Very quiet and relaxing atmosphere around the hotel. Perfect for a peaceful stay. Sauna and steam room were great, pool facilities quiet and clean but hot tub was freezing cold. However for the price of £80 which we paid we got free breakfast and a wonderful stay- great value for money. Would reccomend. We will be back soon.

Stayed at the Hellaby Hall Hotel at the start of December with Angela Holidays. The staff were very attentive and kind, nothing too much trouble, especially the young lady from Ireland, sorry forgot your name. My room was beautiful ,comfortable, very clean and warm . The Hotel was lovely and warm and beautifully decorated for Christmas. The food was delicious, with generous portions and nice and hot when it came to the table. All round first class. Thank you Elizabeth Langford

We didn't stay overnight so can't comment on the rooms but the building is lovely and kept looking beautiful. The staff are all friendly and really helpful. We attended for a Mother's Day event and Dinner with Santa this year and I can't fault the event team. The service was great, the food lovely, the atmosphere really festive, the kids had an amazing time and the adults equally happy. I am thoroughly looking forward to our next visit.

My partner and I stay regularly at this hotel, and every time we are always super impressed with our stay! The hotel is always very clean and rooms very spacious. The spa facilities and gym are also great! We would like to say a special thank you to the wonderful Pam on reception, she always greets us with a warm welcome and always goes the extra mile for us!

Myself and my Mum stayed here for one night as a girls night in spa package! The hotel itself is lovely and clean, staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. We got to stay in a king executive suite, the bed was very comfortable. There was some popcorn, chocolates and wine waiting in the room for us. We had afternoon tea, the best cakes and scones we have ever had. Well worth the extra money. We had a 3 course meal at the Carnely restaurant- wow!! Amazing!! Really good portions. Compliments to the chef and waiting staff. Lastly the spa was so calming and a fantastic experience. Staff were so lovely and friendly, we were looked after very well. Highly recommend a facial- so relaxing and the best treatment I have ever had! Loved the hot tub (you get plenty of time in there) Big thank you to all the staff who made our experience a memorable one. Cant wait to return and recommend to our friends and family ❤️

We came here after our wedding for a couple of days for a mini honeymoon and it was so lovely. The room was spacious for a good price and very clean. The food was excellent offering some nice twists on classic dishes. The best thing was how nice every member of staff was, they couldn't do more and made us feel very welcome after our big day.
