   Just had 2 nights at this lovely pub/hotel. The room (102) was spotless and clean, cozy, and had all the facilities for a really pleasant stay. The staff were all friendly and were very pleasant making sure we were enjoying our stay. We'll done Team Red Lion. We will be back soon. Dean and Jan Hornsea

   The Red Lion is a cosy wetherspoons in the centre of town. There is a wide selection of beers lager and cider including six hand pulled cask conditioned real ales at very cheap prices. The ones i sampled were in excellent condition. The service was very quick and the staff are friendly despite it being a busy Saturday evening. There is a nice secluded courtyard seating area.

   Always sound. Great staff and a decent breakfast. Not sure of the older chaps name on the bar, think he's the manager but always a warm welcome from him and good recommendations for specials etc. Big up the Gate House :)

1. The Whisperer ★★★★★

   A lovely pub with more modern feel than your usual spoons. The pub was very clean and tidy and has a large beer garden out the back with seating down the alley beside the pub. The usual seating is available but I would argue that it is probably a bit more luxurious in here. The Guinness was excellent as was the Doom Bar and the Brains St David's Ale.

   Very surprised and well pleased with the hotel room. Spotlessly clean, modern, lovely big shower, super comfy bed. Tea/coffee/bottles water and biscuits in room. Warm, friendly check in. I really like Wetherspoons as a pub/eatery but this is the first time I've stayed in one of their hotel rooms, it won't be the last.

   The place and beer prices are lovely but it takes forever to get served. The pub wasn't even full and only about 4 people at the bar, yet there were 3 people serving! No eye contact, no "I'll be a minute, faces like Thunder! and a attitude like" What you want to buy beer! " You seem to have a captive crowd and you know it! So you are thinking... " F***You!" The beers cheap though....

   Called in for breakfast whilst car was being serviced. Was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was inside, great little outside seating area at rear. Food came out very quickly (even though it was busy being a race day) and coffee machine kept nice a clean.
