Amazing place where you can find fossils. The walk is interesting with lots to see. The yellow walk requires a little more fitness and effort but is worth it. We also saw lots of interesting mushrooms. Free to get in but car park was all locked when we went.

Really big nature reserve with lots of entrances, it is possible to get here by car and public transport but catching the bus as it is right opposite the black country new road. Once inside the reserve it's very secure, you wouldn't know how central you are. You can see Dudley castle from high up. Lots of open spaces for picnics, not a lot of bins so make sure to bring an extra bag for your rubbish. A decent amount of benches, some nice walking trails and some more rural trails that may be difficult to navigate if you have limited mobility. Lots of statues around and lots of fossils to find.

Fascinating. I've lived close to this amazing place all my life, I'm in my 60's and had never visited it! We found it really interesting. As well as finding fossils we had a great walk there too. ALSO on the walk a Green and a Greater Spotted woodpecker along with a Jay seen. Also several Orange-tip, Speckled wood and Peacock butterflies. Super day.

It was such a lovely walking area. It was super clean too, barely any rubbish. I enjoyed my hike here and the locals were ever so sweet! Would definitely return when It's a bit warmer and not too slippery.

Great scenic place to walk around and get some great photos. For the most part, it is nice and quiet and only occasionally see people walking around through the trees. The exception is where there are roads nearby, where the day I went, there was a tatter scrap truck driving around with its siren call on full blast, which ruins the whole experience. The most popular area would be the bright quarry where you'll find plenty of fossils. To walk around the whole reserve is quite the workout, and there are steps leading to different parts, but the steps can be very steep and hard to climb. As you continue down into the reserve, there are parts where it goes to its lowest point that doesn't get much sunlight, so the ground may be muddy, but it's very nice around here. The alternative to this is to climb the steps to the highest points where you'll be able to see for miles. Had not been here for many years, but it's relatively unchanged. The only real letdown (and biggest change) is the Seven Sisters Caverns (or caves). The council has blocked off and filled in all the caverns with fences and rocks. They have ruined a historical landmark. Like the fences should be enough to keep people out, but to fill in caverns is just out of order. There used to be cave exploration parties in the past, but now is just a thing of the past. What's funny is the caverns are fenced off, but if you walk around through the trees, there are many many spots where there are considerable drops into very deep ditches that are just out in the open and not fenced off at all. If you fall through some of these, you're going to get hurt badly. Just stick to the path though, and you'll be fine. As for the quarry with fossils, I last went here over 25 years ago, and it might have been my mind playing tricks on me, but if you don't like spiders, then don't walk around the quarry towards the evening, as I remember seeing all the rocks suddenly swarm with hundreds of tiny spiders. In the daytime, though, you probably won't see any. The whole area is well worth the visit, and feels like a different country away from the normal everyday life of Dudley.

Lovely place to walk around and take kids to look for fossils. Dont take digging equipment!! As not allowed. Would love to see the Severn Sisters caves open up but think it wouldn't be possible in these current times of cost cutting

Such a great spot for fossil hunting. So many beautiful shells and corals ALL over. Great spot for a kids day out and little walk. The views aren't great but the fossils make up for that!! There are little mountains to climb up and then loose rock fall and fossils for those who don't like a scramble!

Fascinating sedimentary rocks with plenty of bedding planes exposed. The ripple beds are especially interesting and protected from climbing and sampling damage. Plenty of areas for kids (of all ages) to explore and find fossils.

Really interesting place to look around. You could easily spend several hours walking and fossil hunting. Great place to walk the dog. Car parking is free but limited to around 15 cars. Definitely worth a visit.
