Overpriced mediocre nail salon with rude and unfriendly staff who need to go back to customer service school. One member of staff in particular made me feel extremely uncomfortable and upset. My feet are still rough after a very average, expensive pedicure and my fingers themselves have polish on them! I will not return and would not recommend to others.

UPDATE 6/7/25: Oh dear what a terrible response, as much as it pains me to waste any more time on this whole nail situation I just want to add some clarity. If you are running a business and someone is unhappy with the service you provide you should not blame the customers you should look for a resolve. I was not unreasonable my nails chipped after 48 hours not just one but four!!! This has never happened to me when I’ve had my nails done elsewhere. I came into your salon and while I was waiting and the staff were busy I was asked across the whole room what was wrong. I explained what had happened and the first response was “ Well you will have come back after 5 o’clock” This was not possible as I had other things to do, so I said “I cannot come back but if you give me my money back I will go someone else and I haven’t got time to keep coming back everytime they chip. The girl that worked there asked to look at them and said they looked beautiful, I think she was being sarcastic as they looked far from beautiful. SHE then told me to show the other customers my nails to which my response was “ Well that’s embarrassing I’m sure they don’t want to get involved and also see how bad they are.” So please do not blame me for your poor service and attitude. You have mistaken assertiveness for aggression, if someone takes my money and refuses to give it back when I am not happy then it is going to cause upset. If we were able to pay by card instead of cash I would have been protected under the Visa dispute process so maybe that’s something to think about. I was then told to never come back into the salon to which I replied “ Don’t worry there’s not chance of that” I did get £35 of my £38 back but first I was offered £12, then £20 and then got £35 only after me insisting but to be honest the whole thing was shocking!!!! ORIGINAL REVIEW: A 1 is too good a score for this terrible place!!! I went to shape and polish for the first time to have my nails done as it was a convenient place to go. They cost £38 for and infill and polish, within 48 hours four of them had chipped and after a few more days they were peeling off. I went back to S&P and asked for my money back as they normally last 4 weeks. They told me they don’t give refunds and I would have to come back later. To cut a very long drawn out story short, they said they thought they looked beautiful even though half of the gel was missing!!! They also offered to give me £12 but said they have to take my nails off when they hadn’t even put them on. They are rude, the nails are shockingly bad and they should be shut down, if you’re looking for a nail salon I suggest you do not use them and go ANYWHERE else. I hope this helps anyone thinking of going there!

The art on them was done by my mum The lady was rude said she could not do what I wanted ! I had to pay up front which never had to do before they was rushed and horrible I was made to feel uncomfy there I had my nails done Tuesday and got them redone somewhere else cheaper and done better and did the marble nails I wanted on top with nail vanish which the other lady said they could not do !! My nails where lifting off my nails and cracking after a day and painful Had to go else where did not trust this place doing them Plus they was gossiping across the room Photo Shown below of the bad nails then the nice nails done in 15 mins !!!! I don’t usually do reviews but the service was so good I just had to! This is the second time I have visited shape and polish and I have been thrilled both times. I saw Mayan the first time and she did a fantastic job and saw Janet today who did some brilliant nail art. She was so patient and helped me pick what colours worked best. Thank you ladies my nails look great. 10/10 I would highly recommend.

My first experience here and whilst my nails came out ok, the customer experience is non existent. Incredibly unfriendly and unwelcoming. No welcome, didn’t even ask my name.Getting your nails done is meant to be a treat, for me it’s a form of self care to make me feel better, here it felt like my very presence was insulting. It’s a lovely interior in an affluent area, it’s a shame they’re destroying a great business set up with a bad attitude to customers. Cash only as well which is a huge red flag.

I was a regular customer and I liked coming here. I also recommended my daughters come here. But more recently, some of the nail technicians have been rougher and less patient. Today I experienced - an appointment that didn't show on their system, an impatient male technician who continually ran the emery board over my nail bed skin (which hurts), scraped my nails so hard with 2 different tools it hurt and left me with soft bendy nails as a result. I left before he painted them as he was obviously annoyed, but he had the audacity to charge me the full amount. I am disappointed and angry. You can't blame the customer for your inadequate system by providing a substandard service. I am still a paying customer. I won't be returning. There's another nail studio up the road called Gloss.

Went along as was local to the area on 21.12.22 to get my Christmas nails done. When I called to book the appointment the staff member was friendly and said they had a cancellation so I booked it. When I arrived the nail tech was very blunt and direct rushing me to chose a colour. I was having sns removed and acrylic put on with gels. In the soaking stage I spilt the water as felt quite squashed with all the colours around me still. I was very apologetic but she just looked at me and said you need to keep your hands still so that doesn’t happen. It made me feel so uncomfortable and just not enjoy the experience. I actually from there just wanted to leave. When it came to the price I couldn’t quite believe it. £43 for such a not very nice experience. I felt so overcharged and wish I had made time to go to my normal place. Wouldn’t go back here again. I also have had my gel lift already and it’s not even been 2 days on one of my nails and not sure why.

Had infill and gel polish £27. The nails are perfect really thin and excellent shape unfortunately the gel polish peeled off by the evening gutted as the last time I had the exact same colour and it lasted over 2 weeks. Very little conversation with the nail technicians as always and one was busy with her FaceTime call throughout.

I have mixed feelings about this place. They are brilliant at shaping my nails, probably the best acrylic technicians I have ever used. However they are utterly awful at customer service. Each time I have been there, they show no interest in my presence and rush me into a decision. And I’m confident that it’s not a personality issue as I have seen them brilliantly engage all of their other customers…
