    Really disappointing experience viewing a house. Drove an hour for a house viewing only for the agent to turn up 20 minutes late. I had to ring to check there was someone coming. While the agent did apologise her attitude just wasn’t very nice. When I explained we’d driven an hour to view the property her response was “well I’m here now.” She told us where the kitchen and living room was and that was it. We went upstairs on our own while she stood by the open front door waiting for us to leave. We just started to walk down the stairs as she walked out the house saying “thank you!” Didn’t give us a chance to ask any questions before she got in her car. Didn’t even ask if we wanted to know anything else or if we were interested in the property. I cannot believe I wasted 2 and a half hours of my day to view this property, with an agent who couldn’t wait to get us out the house. If I wasn’t sure about it before I’m certainly not now. I wouldn’t view another property with this agency again.

    Beyond rude and dismissive staff. Was rejected for a house on basis of my income, tried to discuss it, the response was rude. Asked parents to discuss alternatives, rhey threatened them for harassment! Am making official complaint. Im sure theyll respond with some nonsense excuses, but seeing how other people have also claimed theyre rude, problem isnt me. Its yhem.

    Very happy with the excellent service provided by Diane and Julie together with their Office. The sale of our property turned out to be very difficult and because of our personal situation we could not have managed without them.To say that they went over and above is an understatement. We highly recommend their services.

    We were flooded out of our house and lived in a property in Newark arranged by Whitegates. The house was beautiful but newly refurbished so lots of building equipment not cleared away. I had to clean the cupboards as they were full of sawdust. We never got access to the garage the entire time we lived there because it was full of rubbish. The extractor fan was faulty and it never got repaired despite several promises. We always dealt with the landlord who lived next door and he was lovely. When we left, as a good will gesture, we left behind two sets of curtains and two curtain rails. The owner said we left it cleaner than it was when we moved in. Whitegates then decided to charge us £40 because there were a few weeds on the patio. When I rang to complain I was angry so told them so. Then I got a phone call from another woman who was extremely rude. I have said in that case please return my curtains and curtain rails. What was their answer? We won't return them but we can charge you for leaving them behind!!!!!! I am gobsmacked at this company. I have never dealt with a company so rude and unprofessional in my life. Never would I deal with them ever again. Lots of estate agents rip off customers with trivial reasons not to return the deposit, but this one takes the biscuit!!!!!

    I would give 0 if possible. I lived in a mouldy house for months, was terrified about my health, mental wellbeing and belongings. My shoes and jackets would be covered on mould. The pictures attached are only some of rooms, whole house was black in places - because of mould. On the beginning they were all lovely, untill we started reporting problems, then we would have those specialists coming over and over, sometimes not showing up. We had persistent problem with boiler, even after year of living with the property we would not deserve to have it replaced, instead Abigail would threaten us with additional charge for those repairs. Once we waited about a month for a piece for a boiler, it was winter, it was Christmas time. What company takes weeks to deliver a part? Nowadays? I feel like it was just to cause us more trouble. We had a massive leak from the bathtub too, ceiling was just falling apart, we had bumble bees infestation, all kinds of stuff. Then, when moving out, they would try to take ALL the deposit while saying it is a discount because the landlord will contribute to the refurbishment etc. I had to use my RIGHT TO DISPUTE, DPS has sorted the problem and we only had to pay a little over £50 for one or two things. It was a long process too because White Gates wouldn’t engage properly and take their time. I am glad this chapter is behind me and I would recommend to everyone- AVOID FOR ALL COSTS!

    Highly rate Whitegates. They recently handled a kitchen refurb and full decoration for me. Abi in particular was proactive in getting quotes and arranging all the work to have the property empty for as short a time as possible. She then found a new tenant quickly and has kept me updated at all times. Excellent service and great peace of mind for a long distant landlord like me!!

    I have just finished a 18 month tenancy with Whitegates and they have been completely wonderful. When we had maintenance problems a workman was organised immediately- every time I have needed to contact them for anything they have been kind and helpful and professional. I have rented with Martin & Co, William H Brown, privately... Whitegates are the best by a long shot. Brilliant letting agent.

    Both my partner and I have personally dealt with the team at Whitegates in Newark during our 6 month tenancy. We have had a positive experience with this letting company as they respected our privacy during this time but were only a phone call or an email away whenever a query arose. After our tenancy ended, they were prompt in the property checks and released our deposit on the next working day after we vacated the property. We had most of our communication with Abi and Sophie during this time who were always super lovely and professional.

    In my time dealing with Whitegates I have always found that he Ladies in the office have been a great help if and when there has ever been an issue with the properties I have rented. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for an Estate Agent to deal with or a Rental Property to secure. A special mention to Sophie who is a Smart Meter Wizard!!
