   Subject: Formal Complaint – Unacceptable Conduct, Lack of Training, and Poor Management I am writing to formally register a serious complaint regarding the complete lack of accountability and the highly unprofessional conduct displayed by both staff and management at the Wickes Hayes branch. During our visit, we approached the service counter and were met by a staff member who appeared to be approximately 17 years old. His attitude was disrespectful, dismissive, and entirely unacceptable, particularly when speaking to customers over 47 years of age. He showed no interest in providing assistance, remained seated, and failed to offer even basic customer service. When the manager was called, the situation worsened rather than improved. Despite being older and expected to demonstrate leadership and professionalism, the manager’s manner of communication was even more inappropriate. He was unwilling to listen, made no attempt to understand the issue, and failed to address the unacceptable behaviour of his staff. Only later were we informed that the staff member was injured—however, this does not justify his conduct, tone, or refusal to serve customers. At one point, the young staff member was shouting and stated that “we are not his boss.” This statement alone highlights a serious failure in customer service training. At the very least, your employees should be taught who customers are and how to speak to them with basic respect, courtesy, and professionalism. This incident raises serious concerns about the quality of training and management standards at Wickes. Staff appear to lack even fundamental communication skills, and management shows no willingness to take responsibility or correct inappropriate behaviour. I strongly urge Wickes to take immediate corrective action by: • Reviewing and replacing the current management at this branch • Providing proper customer service and communication training to all staff • Ensuring employees understand professional conduct, tone, and respect toward customers Please confirm whether Wickes is capable of addressing these issues. If not, kindly inform us, as we will have no option but to stop recommending Wickes to builders, contractors, and associates. I expect a formal acknowledgment and a written apology on behalf of the entire unprofessional team at the Wickes Hayes branch, including the manager. Based on this experience, it is evident that staff morale is low and professionalism is severely lacking—issues that require immediate attention. I look forward to your prompt response

   This wickes store does not wven deserve a one star. The customer service is disgusting. I was there with my mum to get some heavy materials. We asked for help and were told no one is available. When we saw someone we asked for help and he sais rudwly to us theres is the trolley pick it up and put it on there and then walked away. We then wanted help with the doors and they refused to help us again. Absolute diagrace. We will never be visiting this store again. Previously had a bad experience with the kitchen planning too. Lady sitting at the desk was more interested in chatting then actually getting any work done.

   Terrible customer service ever from a young lady at the till, I was recently purchasing some hardware for my new DIY project and came to ask some questions to one of the young lady at the till with curly hair. She decided to take having a bad day out on me and I felt very uncomfortable. However on a more positive note a you lad with braids who kindly assisted me was very helpful, what a guy, absolute star and a great employee.

   This store is located just off the A312 bypass and is easily accessible. As with other locations, during peak time it can take longer to reach the store but having a dedicated lane (from the A312 roundabout) to turn right into the side road, makes a difference even during heavy traffic. Parking can be an issue here due to the various other units opened in recent years and bringing more people to the location but I've always found parking. The store is well stocked and the staff are helpful. However, it could really do with a face-lift to improve the 'look and feel' of the store in order to improve the customer experience. Otherwise, it's worth popping into Farm foods within the complex, given that the product offer and the pricing is competitive.

   A big wickes. Always easy to park... 2 tills but rarely a queue. Excellent burger van on site! Very efficient here, I'm always in and out quickly. A trade account gets you 10% discount on orders using the app.

   Lighting is a bit grim, could be improved. Not many people on the counter, can be a bit slow at times. Entrance is surrounded by barriers and stuff in the way. Bit annoying when wheeling a trolley out to your car.

   Online I found product I required was being sold by Wickes at good price, not available for delivery but 1 in Hayes branch. Called store and asked if they could confirm it was available, told yes. Said I'd visit to collect. Arrived at branch and was never available. Shocking experience!

   Placed order online , paint was in stock. When I gone to collect they took 45mins and then told me they don't have.. very bad service no one response properly. Waste of time and money avoid this store. All store staff is on personal mobile phones .. management should take action on them.

   Very good store, friendly colleagues, parking is bit congested due to other stores around. Staff not allowed me to check My WC before purchasing. But when I purchased and paid for it I found my WC is fully cracked but as the item was available. I got my evening exchanged quickly. Very reliable store for indoor purchase. Reasonably priced all around items

   They offers a great variety of construction products from nail to wood products, paint, cement, screws, glue and much more. Basically you can get everything here for your home construction work and decorating or diy. Good parking space, friendly staff, spacious facility.
