I BOUGHT THE WATCH My overall experience of purchasing a watch from Goldsmiths was generally satisfactory, and I recognise the brand as a well-established and trusted retailer in the UK, particularly for luxury and investment watches. This is the main reason I chose to visit the store, as I have a genuine interest in higher-end watches and long-term value pieces. That said, my initial experience on the upper floor could have been improved. When I entered the store, there were staff members available, and some were already assisting customers. However, I did not receive any acknowledgment or initial engagement, such as a simple greeting or being informed that someone would assist me shortly. I fully understand that staff may already be dealing with other customers, but even a brief interaction—such as asking if I was okay and arranging for another colleague to assist—would have made a positive difference. Instead, I felt overlooked on the upper floor, despite staff being present. As a customer who was seriously considering a purchase, this first impression was slightly disappointing. In a luxury retail environment, early engagement is important, regardless of whether a customer is browsing or appears undecided. When I later moved downstairs, the experience improved significantly. A staff member approached me, asked what I was looking for, and made the effort to assist. She then contacted a colleague from the upper floor to help me further, and from that point onward, the service became smooth, professional, and well-organised. I appreciated her initiative and willingness to ensure I received proper assistance, especially as I am still learning and exploring within the watch industry. Overall, while the final service and outcome were positive, I believe the experience would be greatly improved if customers received consistent attention from the moment they enter the store—particularly on the upper floor. A simple acknowledgment and proactive assistance at the beginning would enhance customer satisfaction and reflect the high standards expected from a luxury brand like Goldsmiths.

One of the screws on my Pepsi bracelet came loose, causing the watch to come apart. When it fell, it must also have lost a link component. I took it to Goldsmiths Rolex in Trafford, where I was greeted by a very welcoming gentleman who immediately made me feel at ease. He kindly booked my watch in for a complimentary repair, which was excellent service in itself. I was advised that, due to it being so close to Christmas, the watch would likely be ready in the New Year. To my surprise, I received a call the very next day to let me know that my watch had already been fixed, cleaned, and was ready for collection. The service was outstanding—very accommodating and genuinely delivered with a smile. Everyone I spoke to was fantastic: the ladies behind the counter, the technician on the phone, and the staff overall. I have purchased several pieces from this store and will absolutely continue to do so. Well done to the whole team, and apologies for not catching any names. Excellent experience all round.

I recently visited the Goldsmiths store in Trafford Centre, Manchester, as a watch enthusiast, and I was thoroughly impressed by the friendliness of the staff. Compared to other Cartier and Rolex stores across Europe, this one stood out for its genuine, welcoming approach. I walked in without an appointment and was warmly greeted by Chloe, who made me feel right at home. I then met the store manager Zoe who was very polite and professionalwith my questions and was very kind to my Wife she then introduced me to Jack the cartier specialist Jack was incredibly professional and helpful with my Cartier purchase, and I’m absolutely thrilled with my new Santos de Monaco—it’s now my favorite daily watch. Jack made the experience pressure-free and genuinely enjoyable. I also had the pleasure of speaking with Dave, who assisted me on the Rolex side, answering all my questions about different models and calibers. His expertise and transparency and warmth really stood out. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and im looking forward to my next visit in January

Had a fantastic experience at the Rolex boutique today. Andrew was warm, knowledgeable, and never pushy—talked me through different models, sizing, and servicing, and made the whole visit feel special. Left genuinely impressed by the professionalism and care. Thanks Jack.

Had a very welcoming experience from the guys working there. Eric, in particular, went above and beyond as always, he’s friendly, genuine, and makes you feel completely at ease. His outstanding service made purchasing my Rolex a truly memorable experience.

If you’re a watch person buy elsewhere. This store sell to selected flippers. They’ll tell you the watches on display aren’t real when you can see them all set to different times and many of them still moving from being shown to their chosen flippers. Read the other reviews about trying to push people to buy watches to sell on just to get on a list for a watch they want. We all know it goes on but this store just don’t value customers at all unless they are one of their flippers.

Originally 5 star as they were very good when dealing with me initially. However, after three weeks, I've still not heard from them about a ring resize which they told me would take them two weeks. I phoned them and was told it's 3-4 weeks. I have no idea when to expect my ring back and not impressed I've had to phone them to chase rather than be kept updated. Edit: ring returned and was too small, the original lady had said that if it was too small they would deal with it and it wouldn't cost any extra. The person I dealt with said that she shouldn't have said that but to their credit did honour it. I paid the balance at this point and it was sent off again. The ring then returned a few weeks later and fitted my finger correctly, on collection I was asked to pay the balance which I had already paid previously. I showed them the transaction on my banking app and that was fine. Overall, not a smooth experience but they were never difficult or backtracked on their promises so in the end everything was ok.

Beverley was absolutely wonderful to deal with. No pressure to buy at all, lots of knowledge from both Beverley and other staff in the store. Made to feel really welcome and offered drinks whilst trying on watches. Collected the watch from Robert yesterday and he was equally wonderful. Again, offered drinks on arrival, talked through the warranty and other options, he set the watch up for us and made sure we were happy before we left. A nice touch was that they made an effort to interact with me too, rather than just my partner who was the one buying. Really pleasant experience and will definitely be returning in the future.

Purchased an engagement ring in September with a view to giving it my partner on Christmas Day. I was told that we could come to size the ring shortly after ie Boxing Day. When we seen the ring in store it had been reduced by £1500. I asked if that reduction could be passed on to me considering the ring had never been worn and it was being swapped for a new one. I was told no due to the fact it had been too long a period that had passed. Needless to say I was very disappointed. Staff who served me were very good to me and more than helpful.

This is an update to a previous review. After an initially not so great experience with a sales associate, I asked to be changed to someone else who was great and I was happy. I mentioned my initial experience in my review and was unexpectedly contacted by Goldsmiths who wanted to know more details and seemed to actually care. I'm impressed when a company takes the time to listen to feedback and do something about it. Also, it's a beautiful store in a convenient location.
