Very lively. 6 good raised VIP areas with table seats and stools for up to 8 people each, to sit and drink whilst watching the bands play
Great live venue. They have a private booth option, which is good for those who don't wish to stand up all night. Great outside/cool down area too We saw Red by Night here. They were an incredible band
It's a great venue with some fantastic live acts. They have improved the place a lot since my last visit. The toilets, which used to be a disaster area have now been moved and are much better. Be aware that unless you book a booth there is no seating in the venue, so if your going to dance best be ready to do it all night. Booking a booth transforms your night, so if you can book one do it.
Not been for years. Totally different, nice place to boogie. Only get 4 stars cus there's no where to put your drink down unless u hire a booth. You have to hold your drink all the time, unless you sit outside in the court yard.
Came here last night for my 40th Birthday celebrations. I love this place. Great atmosphere, good priced beer and great live bands. Thank you for a brilliant night!
Hands down the #1 music venue in the local area. Recently reopened following a massive refurbishment, The River Rooms is now better than ever before! Absolutely exceptional tribute bands play here, with something to suit everyone's tastes. There is a wide array of drinks available at decent prices, as you would expect from any club. The atmosphere and decor is bloody beautiful following the refurb! The toilets are actually kind of fancy now haha. There is plenty of space throughout the venue now, and there is even a covered outdoor seating area too. I highly recommend!
Saw "Instinct" Local band. Only youngsters but excellent gig. They really had everyone bouncing!! They do (Scooby doo), as a signature piece. Really good fun . Brilliant night .
The Subterraneans were playing at The River Rooms tonight - a very accomplished 5-member rock outfit with a great front man. However, the venue sound system was so blisteringly loud for what is, after all, a small venue that a lot of the songs, whilst still recognisable, just sounded like a wall of ear-splitting noise. Turn it down a couple of notches and you'd be able to discern the individual instruments more easily and listen without worrying about your ear drums.
