The booking was handled well but I wouldn't book through this company again as the whole situation is misleading. The reviews of properties don't really reflect the actual property as only the reviews the owners choose go on the website, any poor reviews don't get published. This is incredibly misleading as most people book a holiday based on reviews from other holiday makers, I should have been more suspicious when I only saw glowing reviews for the property I booked. It was a lovely cottage but not the cottage I thought I was booking. Also, this company takes the description of the property at face value from the owners and in my case it was incorrect and misleading. Surely a company should actually check the property is as described by the owners???? I particularly wanted a secure garden for my dog and chose an appropriate property, imagine my surprise when the garden was anything but secure. I couldn't enjoy the garden unless I tied my dog up, she ended up in the road outside twice and both times almost got hit by passing cars. Holidays are meant to be a time to relax and enjoy the property chosen, I effectively booked a property with no garden which I never would have done knowingly. I did enjoy my holiday but I feel I was misled regarding the property, it won't happen again.

Ty-Cam cottage Abercych. We have just enjoyed a four night stay over the Christmas period at Ty-Cam. The cottage was immaculately clean & beautifully decorated for Christmas including a tree. The property was extremely comfortable and well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The Nag's Head close by, served excellent food. The weather was mild allowing woodland & beach walks. Alan the owner, is very helpful. We highly recommend this cottage & we look forward to a return visit. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Roger, Paula, Mick & Jill.

I wish I would have checked this company on Trustpilot before booking. We have booked on the website of West Wales Holiday Cottages a lovely looking accommodation called "Rhyd y Brown Farmhouse" for the time period 10th – 17th August 2024. It only had superb reviews and we were really looking forward to our stay. On the 10th August at 4pm we arrived at the property, where a key has been left for us. We opened the front door and were in total shock. The property looked nothing like the pictures on the website. The whole interior was at least 50 years old, everything was broken and there was an unbearable smell in the air, which was like a mixture of mould, urine and bleach. When we walked in the property we quickly noticed that we were walking in bleach, which was just poured on the floor and struggled breathing, as it smelled so extreme and hurt our lungs and eyes. We quickly noticed poison everywhere in the property and ants, bugs and cockroaches wherever we looked at. The carpets were ripped and mouldy, there was mould on the walls, stains everywhere on the sofa, the tables were sticky, electric wires and broken windows were in reachable height of my children. There was no way we could sleep in this house, as it was simply a massive health and safety issue. We tried to ring West Wales Holiday Cottages from outside the property, but no one answered the phone. I then sent them an email asking for being called back as soon as possible, as we couldn’t stay at the property they have rented out to us. We then decided to drive directly to the office address of West Wales Holiday Cottages and demand an alternative to sleep in. When we arrived at their office in Cardigan, the office was closed and it said, they are back the next day at 10am. Since we didn’t have a place we could go to we staid in their car park and had to sleep with our children in the car in front of their office. The next morning a lady turned up to unlock the office. I approached her and explained to her the situation and said, we need an alternative accommodation immediately. She asked me to come in and said she has to call her manager. After calling her manager she said she can offer us another property, which is available to move in the same day, however we would need to pay another £878 and only afterwards can get our money back for the other property! Since we were with our children and had no other place to go to, we had not other option than paying another £878 to West Wales Holiday Cottages in their office. As it turned out, West Wales Holiday Cottages do not inspect the properties they advertise on their website and also refuse to take any responsibility for it, although you book it on their website and trust their pictures and reviews, which by the way are all monitored by the actual owners of the property. So you will never see any objective review on their website about any of their advertised property. West Wales Holiday Cottages will simply tell you, to get in touch with the owner for any issues. In our case the owner has till today not given us back our money and we now had to get our Credit Card company involved, which are currently investigating for fraud.

Quick easily navigated website After booking i was phoned up with a query within a couple of hours as i'd inadvertently but my child's age in the number of children which would have exceeded the cottage capacity, this was quickly resolved and proves that they take care in vetting the bookings which is very reassuring

We booked Owls Hoot for a week, it was brilliant, lovely accommodation and grounds with some of the best views over the bay and Aberporth. Bit of a walk to the beach, ok going down but a bit harder getting back up. Lucy the owner was incredibly accommodating and Ben the dog kept our dog busy!! Would recommend a stay, one of the best holidays we've had.
