Our stay at The Barn By The Ford was nothing short of fantastic. Great location with easy access to villages like Bourton-on-Water, Upper & Lower Slaughter; Blenheim Palace and Oxford. The cottage itself was cosy and magical with everything you need for a lovely staycation. Would absolutely recommend!
We needed this company's help when we could no longer travel on a holiday we had booked. We appreciated we would lose money but hoped they could help us find another suitable cottage They were unhelpful and unbending in their approach and just kept repeating that if we cancelled we would lose 60% of the money paid. We understood and accepted that but still needed help finding another property. They would not listen to our requests for help and again said if we cancelled it would cost 60%. We are still not sure what they think they have achieved from a customer service perspective because after cancellation we lost money, which we knew before we rang them, and will now never ever use them again. In fact I would urge everybody to be very cautious with this company. They seem more interested in profit than customer service and we suggest that approach is a dark road best avoided from a customer perspective.
Would not recommend using this company at all, bad reviews clearly aren't posted. Recently stayed at Bosulval Farmhouse nr Penzance. In theory this should be a beautiful cottage but its damp, dirty and needs some serious updating! Would not use Classic Cottages again as they clearly only post the good reviews which are very misleading when selecting a holiday cottage...
We rented a lodge in Cornwall through Classic Cottages and were dismayed to find it was dirty, and missing vital neccessities (toilet roll, bin bags etc.). The lodge was significantly not as described, with missing features (firepit), completely overgrown lawn, and despite being advertised as private, was overlooked by the owner's house and their drive which fed another property - this was a major issue when trying to enjoy peace and privacy in the hot tub. Classic's only advise was to contact the owner whilst we were there and have confrontation with them whilst their home was 10 meters away from our front door. Classic have refused to acknowledge these issues, despite quietly updating their desription to remove any mention of how private the place is... Following a complaint to Classic, they offered me around a minor pre-tax partial refund. Had I known about these issues ahead of time, I would never have booked this property, or with Classic Cottages. It's certainly not worth the money we paid, and it spoilt our holiday - no one wants to have to sit amongst other people's hair and dirt. Avoid them like the plague.
