   This store’s lift has been out of service for a long, LONG time now. Me and my disabled son are unable to access the post office downstairs due to this, there is an escalator down but once you’re down there, no way back up. No warning on your way down, either. Someone could get trapped down there. No one wants to live in the basement of WHSmith, all the food is upstairs so you’d starve down there. Fix the lift! And until that’s done, warn people before they head downstairs that they’ll get stuck down there.

   Love W H Smith. Don't ever close. Beautiful cards but a little pricey. Need to be more like Clintons on price range. Lots of good interesting books, and they used to have a nice cafe upstairs.

   A large and well stocked W H Smith located in a beautiful black and white Tudor style building close to the Eastgate Clock. There are escalators between all three floors and a glass lift in the centre of the shop. Some good quality Christmas cards among the big selection of cards on the ground floor, along with gifts, stationery, art supplies, magazines and sweets. The books are upstairs, some good titles and there's a wide choice of travel guides and some lovely jigsaw puzzles. Plenty of bargains to be found among the clearance stock in the basement. The main post office is here and there's also a photo booth. Bought a really good travel guide here. There only appeared to be tills on the ground floor but the cashier who served me was both friendly and helpful and service was quick.
