Moss Side Leisure Centre is a great option for weekly badminton with affordable court prices that make it easy to keep coming back. There is a water refill station available, but I think the toilets are not well-maintained. The gym area has a lot of fitness equipment, from cardio machines to weights, and they also offer various programs and classes for different fitness levels and goals.

The gym is alright, it's nice that there are 3 different rooms which mean it is reasonably quiet most the time but probably for the reasons I'm about to state :) The equipment is old and it is lacking majorly. There are not enough weights or attachments in any room & not to mention, the "woman's only" room has little to no equipment so an avid lifter has to go upstairs anyway. The main weights room is always an absolute mess with large numbers of weights left on machines and barbells and dumbbells are left absolutely everywhere in the room and have no order on the racks because no staff are enforcing anything (and as a girl in a largely male dominant environment, this sucks). Staff members are always sat downstairs chatting but no one is around upstairs tidying, cleaning or supporting. The air con is super hit or miss too, the only room it is good in is the cardio room but everywhere else is muggy and not nice to work out in. Can't say anything about the other amenities as I haven't used them. But the gym could get a much higher review if they made some small changes.

The centre is is very much part of the community. It is charity run and this should not be an excuse but sadly the levels of hygiene throughout the facility has declined over the years. This used to be the cleanest facility you could visit and all the staff took pride in making sure cleanliness was maintained. The gyms and the equipment, the pool and changing areas would benefit from a deep clean. The female gym seems like its an after thought. Its cluttered with oldest equipment and space is limited and would benefit from a redesign. Staff in general are personable and seem to like what they do. There are personal trainers who are happy to go over what they offer to help members reach their goals. Not sure if any of these reviews are read by the centre, but know there are members at the facility who highlight cleanliness and repair issues with the management. So if there are concerns seek them out. Overall; Like the venue and staff. Some of the older equipment is shabby and needs a good clean but generally work.

The leisure centre itself is lovely and the staff there has been helpful and kind but it has a BIG cleanliness issue. The gym equipment is dirty and sometimes even sticky, the gaps on machines are full of crumbs, hair and God knows what else to the point it has created a layer of gunk. It’s really demotivating to even get on them. Same with the Dance studio. I went to a yoga class but was put off by the horrendous smell of feet. The whole floor was dirty with dust and crumbs and even some dried up spillage. Considering it was a yoga class where majority of movement you do is on a floor/mat its really unacceptable. After the class I had to brush off my leggings because they were left with dust and dirt all over them. And then the pool!!!! To a naked eye it looks clean however the other day I brought in some swimming goggles with me and to be honest I wish I could un-see what was going on under water- hair clump clusters in more than one place, unspecified white blobs floating around and the thing that tipped it all over the edge was a cotton q-tip on the bottom of the pool. How does that even get in there. I have no idea if they clean the pool but if they do it’s not very often at all. And lastly the toilets are really bad- there has not been one visit where the toilets have been in a good condition. I should not be cleaning after someone else just to use the toilet. Really disgusting. Very very unsanitary!!! Bad cleaning issue!

Don’t bother to answer the phones, I have called so many times to find out about squash sessions. The information in the booking section online says that the courts are closed due to maintenance, yet they were reopened 3 months previous, as stated on their Facebook and the same website! Doesn’t help that the Better Health app doesn’t let you look at sessions more 5 days ahead. Really poorly delivered service!

First time visit this leisure centre. Badminton court floor very slippery. Is not meant for Badminton. Also very narrow court. Before our session end. Next group of peoples come in while we still playing and we almost bumped into them!

I've used many gyms across Manchester. This is my local one now where I live. I have been using gyms for years and mainly use weights/strength training. Its about Β£30 a month for a membership. I find it hard to find any time of day when the strength equipment is free, a lot of it is old and worn down. I've tried different times of day and still struggle to get on equipment a lot of the time. I also don't think the opening hours are great- especially on the weekend. The chain large gyms like puregym and bannatynes I previously used were a lot more spacious, cleaner, easier to use equipment and staff seemed friendlier. I paid the same price or less for these. Its got a great big Olympic size swimming pool but the strength training room really could do with a refurb/extra space. The staff are reasonably friendly- some have been especially so, others a little abrupt. I haven't been for a while, it is hard to get on equipment easily like I said, they could do with more strength/weight training equipment and more space to do weight training exercises. I haven't tried any classes yet. I'll keep giving it a go but not particularly impressed when comparing to previous gyms I've used over the years.

I’ve been playing badminton in the centre for over 15 years, we asked for block booking multiple times in the past but was told that they don’t allow it because they need to offer a certain amount of slots to book and play on a first come first serve basis. So we’ve been booking every week until now, they cancelled our booking and no longer allow us to book our usual time on a Monday and we have no other time slots other than just Friday now, It transpires that a new club has blocked booked all the courts in the main hall and that was not enough that they gave the small courts to them as well… It’s fair to say, their is preferential treatment to others, block booking is at management discretion and their is nothing fair about the arrangements and decisions made by the management, very appaulling…
