I attend a swimming group on Thursday evenings here, but I have now been chased by a debt recovery agency for a parking ticket issued in January 2025, because I simply forgot to put my registration number into a pad, a new system introduced at some point. I emailed Arcadia on 18 December after receiving the letter, and have tried to call via their contact centre multiple times. The call repeatedly goes to voicemail without ringing, and no one has responded to my email, despite an auto-reply saying they try respond in 72 hours. Replies on google to other complaints recommends the email address they don't respond to anyway! The facilities are good here, but don't expect any level of professionalism or good customer service, and the predatory parking issue is infuriating given you don't pay for parking anyway and I legitimately make use of the centre! I'm now trying to appeal and Arcadia are being entirely unhelpful, likely costing me Β£170!

The place is an absolute scam with 'managers' who don't have a clue. They are taking my elderly mother for a ride - who has been a loyal customer for a long time. She has accrued several parking tickets for sessions where she was entitled to park (which can be proven and will be proven to a court). They keep saying they'll rescind the violation but the parking company say they have received no such request. Every time we go in to resolve this there is a different manager on shift and that manager is never available. They are literally lying to a 70 year told women repeatedly, convincing her they will help her, while allowing the parking agency to refer her to a debt collection agency. DO NOT FALL INTO THEIR CYCLE OF SCAMMING

Went several times to library to try and get something printed - did not prove possible as computer didn’t work, then had to pay in 20p coins to print (?!) which I didn’t have, then on third trip my computer account had been blocked for unknown reason. Not regularly staffed so frequently unable to resolve issues. Then got Β£100 parking ticket - despite their insistence to the contrary in responses to this thread the signage is not clear at all. Another scam in a country which increasingly feels like one big extended scam.

An outstanding leisure centre with something for everyone. The classes are varied and fun, the gym has all the equipment you need, and the swimming pool is excellent. The whole place is clean, safe, and well-run. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to stay active.

Decent gym and pool that get the job done. It’s a community library and leisure centre, which is clearly an asset to the area and understandably isn’t going to have the equipment and facilities that a more expensive private gym would offer. I will say that there are a couple of areas that could be improved. Obviously over the summer holidays the pool is busier, but it would be nice to have more weekday lane swimming sessions outside of 9-5. Swim for fitness sessions currently start at 8pm, which is a bit of a pain if you’d like to go after work but without it being too late. I’d also like to see more nudges about gym etiquette and making the gym a more inviting space, especially for women who don’t have a need to attend women’s only sessions. The strength training sections especially are often dominated by men in a way that can feel somewhat intimidating to insert oneself into. For instance, large groups taking over equipment without necessarily using it, people watching videos without headphones, and weights and equipment being left scattered across walkways or across mats and benches. The gym can absolutely be a social space, but there just isn’t the space for a group of several blokes to hog equipment while socialising without it feeling unwelcoming - especially as the weights section is very cramped, so any ways of making this area feel more inviting and encouraging good etiquette on using space would be much appreciated

Went there a month ago, a woman with a east european accent acting like a manager or something didnt allow me to do a couple of photocopies because there was a friday 'kids club': the photocopy machine was like 2 metres away from the reception and i was trying to explain that I wouldn't bother anyone going there and coming back but in a stubborn and over entitled keeping a fake smile on her face she just dismissed me like I didn't say anything or like she wasn't listening. I still remembered that and it was quite a bit ago, as so much her bad manners were out of order. Surely the customer service is the cancer of that place which is actually pretty decent, so much that I wanted to subscribe to swimming and gym but that treatment put me off quite badly, I ll have to think again whether to subscribe or not.

There is a older woman on reception with shoulder length brown hair and glasses and blue top who has a stinking attitude working on 8th october 2022 and is quite argumentative not happy going into the gym knowing she is working there if she is removed I’d happily go onto site more she is ruining the reputation of better gym and making customers not want to return which in return will impact revenue … at the end of day I don’t want to pay when they make you wait around 20 minutes before you can use facilities due to being busy signing up new members forgetting existing members. I’m appalled … if you can avoid this site please do bad customer service …

Although the Arcadia has been open for over 5 years, and I live locally, I first visited it last Tuesday. To say I was pleasantly surprised would be a major understatement. After entering through the automatic doors I was immediately impressed by the modern clean interior. The reception staff were only too happy to help with any enquiry, Sarah and Jamie in particular assisted me to obtain an over 60's swimming card - which to my great delight was free, and Sarah gave me a guided tour around the centre so that I could find my way around unaided on my next visit. I've no hesitation awarding 5 stars, the facilities and the staff totally deserve it
