Stayed at the Heathlands Hotel Bournemouth. Nothing nice to say about this experience. Food was awful wouldn’t feed it to a dog! The breakfast was edible. The evening food was dreadful. Served fish in a 3 night stay twice. Turkey New Year’s Day was obviously left over from Christmas Day. Drowned in gravy presumably to soften it. Choice was appalling. Room was fine as we took dog so didn’t expect the Ritz. Entertainment if that’s what you call it was so bad I felt embarrassed for the singers. New Year’s Eve completely ruined for me had no get up and go which should have been a good night with a bit of entertainment boy was I wrong. Staff very polite and friendly but no idea what chef they had if any as couldn’t see any decent cook serving the rubbish up that we had. Was nit expecting a lot but definitely more than what we got shouldn’t be advertising the way they do for some of the hotels. Sorry won’t go with them again. All hyped up in brochure bur no where near how they say it is

Just back from Thistle hotel Callander. Can I start by saying every member of staff is what's holding this place up. Every single one of them. Courteous. Always smiling. Willing to help in any way. They so deserve five stars but unfortunately we can't due to other issues. They had us fed and watered really quickly. Hats off to them in all honesty. Service was first class. Rooms were clean and updated. Manager let us sit in dining room as we had elderly parents rather than ask us to move to set up the area for entertainment. We really appreciate that. Now for what didn't go well. In booking there is minimal space on line to give detailed requirements but we did our best to advise elderly on zimmers needing accessible room. Also called breaks to go and was advised to speak to hotel which we did and was told to call back breaks to go nearer date of travel which we did to be told to call the hotel which we did. On these 4 phone calls I advised elderly parents in their 80s on zimmers requiring ground floor accessible room. On arrival we were advised that there were three steps to thier room which defeats the purpose of accessible room. The room was not an accessible room either as it had a shower over the bath. Was advised they hadn't been told we needed a room with a shower. Despite the reception trying their hardest to give a different room they couldn't. Not good start. This despite all the phone calls to prevent this happening. Also someone should have said you are better on next floor with lift and a room with a shower as all the ground floor rooms have stairs to access..... So turkey tinsel break.....but first night it was just normal. Been to a few of these with other trips and first night was Christmas, second was boxing day and third was new year. Ordered the fish and chips to be told sorry there's none left. Ordered the cheesecake......sorry there is none left. The meals following day which was Christmas and next day boxing were ok but portion sizes on some things were child portions honestly. Think my Christmas pudding was about quarter in thick....looked like a credit card on my plate. Four profiteroles size of marbles. Burger chips came with around 8 chips...... for an adult.... As far as breakfast goes it's not good. Poor quality sausage and bacon and very little choice. Sausage, scrambled egg, bacon, hash browns, beans and hut tomatoes. No black pudding and no haggis and no mushrooms, no pastry, no rolls. Bacon was like leather. Sausage had no taste. Is the scrambled egg from powder as it was not nice at all ? Entertainment first night was fantastic. 2 and 3rd night average sorry. Our room. As I said clean and updated but TV in unit round corner from actual bed and TV covering the mirror for drying hair. That TV should be on wall so we could see it from bed. No drawers for clothing as where there was shelving they have put a tea coffee area instead. It would have been better where TV was. So this was an early Christmas present for parents who gave it a score of 1/10. We are feeling so guilty that we are now taking them somewhere else. Staff give yourself pat in back but give that chef more money to spend on better food sorry.

Hello, I would like to review two hotels used by UK Breakaways in Blackpool. I have stayed at both this year. The first was the Caledonian Tower. I stayed there from the 22nd April for four nights. A great location, Friendly staff and a menu choice for dinner. Breakfast was buffet style offering a wide selection of typical breakfast fare. Importantly for the guests they operated a drinks package. This resulted in the lounge area being very busy inti the night. They also had entertainment every night. Coming to my next visit to Blackpool, This was last week ,12th August for four nights again. This time I stayed at the Savoy hotel. Not quite as good a location as the Tower. However there are important points to outline the differences between the two. The Price difference is not justified( I wanted to stay at the Tower). The hotel offers nothing extra, in fact it offers less. Let`s deal with the food first, buffet breakfast again very well stocked and laid out. The dinner again was buffet and was really tasty with a different choice each evening. Now we come to the main reason for writing this review is they offered no drinks package in stead you were required to pay for each drink as you had it, not just that but you had to pay by card each time. Given the general age of the guests they did not want to do that. The result was there was no one in the lounge come 10 o`clock each evening. Added to this lack of a social integration between guests there was no entertainment. These decisions are not for you to make however the revenue lose at the hotel must be huge. With your influence could you maybe suggest a change of policy. This would not only raise their income at no extra charge but make their guests enjoy their stay at the Savoy. Thank you for bearing with me, take care. Alan Long.

Its a scam, they never have the dates available and string you along making you think its legit, their office shows up on google as the nationalholidays office which is a fake then they tell u their office is in spain...which of course a bunch of british scammers are working from an "office in spain" Reporting them to the police and getting my 82 pounds back as in their lovely small print your upfront payment is .. non refundable ...
